LA-based rapper and producer Floowood (AKA Corbin Billings) is selling off his Nintendo collection in order to fund a tribute video for his friend Zach Resnik (pictured above). A variety of titles from the NES to the Wii are available, and while prized titles like Earthbound have already gone, Floowood hopes to raise $10,000.
Zach Resnik passed away in 2013 at the age of 24, following years of chronic back pain and multiple surgeries. Zach had dreamed of holding a big party on October 21st 2015, the date at which Marty McFly arrives in Back To The Future 2, but didn’t live to see the day. Floowood performed a commemorative rap to honour his memory, which has since been recorded at Capitol Records. The money raised will go towards the hire of a DeLorean and a drone for the video, which will be taken across the USA to visit Resnik’s grave in New York.
All proceeds from the sale of the song are to go to a trust fund for Resnik’s family, who lost their house funding his medical treatment, and any excess funds generated from the Nintendo sale are to be donated to them too.
