It's got to be Manic Miner, one of the first games i ever loaded on my rubber keyed wonder. Brutally difficult (I still haven't finished it 26 years on) but i'm still trying....if only i could get past the damn warehouse...

Mind you we did melt a Speccy PSU playing Chuckie Egg for 8 solid hours on a 2 player game.........

Manic Miner is special , but it has to go to Dynamite Dan. Ultra cool , smooth , colourful - and the game's not bad either

I've never had a Speccy but one of my mates had one. I've played all those games except for Dynamite Dan. I have to say that my favourite is Chuckie Egg.

JSW is evil on toast. DD isn't one I stuck with for long. MM is one I can appreciate, but don't actually enjoy. CE is one of my favourite 8-bit games. CE it is, then!

Sorry, those are the four most overrated games, never mind platformers, on the Speccy. More options needed, really. Chuckie Egg is the best of the bunch, but that's like saying I'd rather have meningitis than lassa fever, ebola or AIDS.

to be fair , those are 4 of the platformers most people would opt for. Bit suprised not to see Monty though...

So if 3 of us have voted for Chuckie Egg then why does it say there's only 2 that's voted? :?

For me it has to be Matthew Smith's finest hour, Willy at his best: Manic Miner. I cruelly overlooked this game when I was a Speccy owning lad as it came out in the Dark Ages (i.e. at least six months before I owned a Spectrum). I was reintroduced to the title in 2004 and still play it on occasion. Splendid all round.

Manic Miner for me.

Played it recently and I am still wank at it, but it is absolutely class.

I know I'll probably be the only one voting for JSW as its reputation has a taken a nose dive in recent time (or it seems that way) - but put simply this was the first game that made me think that a whole world could be living in your computer.
Mother doesn't approve of it you know...

Er... what's a Spectrum?
(no seriously, I never played any of these... and I don't even know what they look like, but Manic Miner has a cool name!)
