Just had a quick flick through issue 63, and found a couple of the articles very nostalgic!

Kevin Toms - Way back in the very early 80s, I wrote a couple of pleading letters to Addictive Games, pestering Kevin Toms about a BBC Model B version of Football Manager. About 9 months later, Kevin phoned me up at home out-of-the-blue and asked me if I wanted to play-test the BBC version before release. Obviously I said yes, and was only too glad to help (I was a mere student studying A-levels at the time). I did get a free complimentary copy of the published game when it was finally released, and I guess that experience gave me the taste for it, as I ended up working in the industry 4 years later!

Revolution - I remember seeing a very early version of 'Lure of the Temptress' at Mirrorsoft, and I remember play-testing it for Mirrorsoft *and* for Virgin. Ditto for 'Beneath a Steel Sky' which was a good solid graphic adventure. I have less pleasant memories of the first 'Broken Sword' as my main task was to cut up all the sampled speech, top and tail it and ensure that the best 'take' was used in the game itself. It took for ever to do, and how many different ways do you think an actor can say 'does this tissue mean anything to you?'... that job almost drove me nuts!

Overall though a great issue, but I have to admit I don't like the fold-out cover at all. Give me an ordinary flat cover anytime.

Quick flick through, love the Gameboy article, brings back tons of memories.

Did laugh at the preview at the next issue about Stuart Campbell looking at the tetris clones "Just dont tell him that its a puzzle game" !

Whilst i DO think the cover is superb!,it`s not that practical,kept annoying me whilst trying to read the mag.

Gameboy feature-i recall at the time,when a few 16-Bit developers were quizzed about their thoughts on it,Peter Mon(Bullfrog)Hated it!,said he expected it to dissapear,very soon,as it was so under powered.

Night trap-jeez,the FMV on the 32x ver.looks horrible,just the MCD game,but in bigger window,what`s that all about?

Bounty Bob strikes back feature?Fantastic.

Interview with archer-Brilliant.Have a lot of respect for this guy,his games are superb and he was such a great voice on the strengths of the 8-Bit atari micro`s.

Now?just got the LONG wait till the next issue.

I just got mine in the post, my first issue from my first ever subscription.
I could not rely on my local high street to get copies in anymore.....
Anyway i just want to say how amazingly cool the cover is. Hope there will be more folding covers in the future.

Dont think poor Darran and that can win with the covers, the odd 'clever' fold out type one i think is cool but it seems the last few months its been some clever 'rubix cube' contraption

Prefer the normal type of cover myself but nice clever one this month.

Great to see an article on Bounty Bob and Skool Daze, two great games.

Theres us lot moaning about the sex lines etc, they've all gone and now instead we get a topless bloke on an advert for t shirts !

I'm just devastated Kevin Toms has got rid of his beard/moustache. Dont think his date of birth was 1978 ! How old is the fella ? Late 40's ?

Great issue, annoying cover..
Few mistakes popping up here and there, for example who told Richard Burton that Jack the nipper was Wally Weeks son..?
Two different games from two different companys, I think he is getting confused with Hurberts Dummy Run from Microgen...
