Got my issue this morning.

Amazing cover, quite possibly the 2nd best cover ever.

The Monkey Island feature is awesome, and I'm looking forward to reading the Switchblade article and the Horror game stuff. It goes without saying that the Ben Daglish - Desert Island Disks is outstanding.

A really strong issue and it's good to see a Top 25 list make a comeback.

Only downside for me this issue is that I was never a fan of Jet Force Gemini and the dire Lets All Play making a most unwelcome return.

At first flick through it looks like one of the issues that has less of interest to me than some others of late, apart from maybe the Empire Strikes Back Bit. I'm not the greatest Monkey Island fan, but the cover is really fantastic.

Not really a problem, just no real system or game i'm into featured. I'll read it all though, as it's sure to be well written, and it's good to learn about things you don't know. Will just keep quiet about the bits I still really don't like, as got a bit of stick last month from some friendly forum members for repitition.

Really pleased to see Teamalfie's 'Bobby is Going Home' review was the featured retrobate one,as it was a fantastically entertaining review.

Lastly just to say how much I always enjoy the excellent Back to the Eighties/Nineties...every month it is a superb read, thank you Mr. Burton.

It was only a pipe dream.

Maybe there wasn't mush-room to fit it in?

For me? A very Solid, good issue.Never been a great fan of Any of the monkey Island games or Jet Force Gemini, so not spending much time on those features, but, no worries as the mag is packed to the nines with some superb interviews and features-Looking forward to the Ben Daglish and Neo-Geo stuff.

RG always manages to include loads of quality for all tastes each and every month.Well done RG crew.

Got my copy this morning, and I have to say that the cover is ace! Always loved the Monkey Island games. Always will. :-)

Only had a quick flick so far, but my god it's good! Ben Daglish desert island disks? Cool! Neo Geo feature? Yesiree!

Have to agree with that guy that there should be a feature on Dungeons & Dragons games. There have been many great games based on the franchise (and a few crappy ones also).

Why bother advertising a feature if it is not certain that it will be in the mag the following month?

Mario's main series has yet to have a feature in Retro Gamer. As a worldwide recognized icon of the gaming industry, you would think that Mario's proper platforming series would get some sort of recognition in the magazine. :?:

The content for this month's issue does look good, it just seems that we were bamboozled with the coming attractions from last month.

Yeah... I haven't had mine yet, but I'm bitterly disappointed to learn of the fat plumbing one's absence, was really looking forward to that.

Is it some sort of licencing issue?. I noticed on the subscription advert page that the issue with the mario cover is missing with a giant destructible marioworld block in its place.

great variety of stuff this issue - possibly most varied assortment yet - which is great.

Amused by Darran's 'William Hague moment' as he dones a baseball cap in LAP!!

On the downside, the postman destroyed by my issue shoving it thru the door - probably some sort of postal strike statement,,,,, :(

There is no issue of Retro Gamer with a Mario cover. Never has been (unless you count Mario Kart or Top 25 Platformers).

I'm 21 pages in, as far as Back to the Eighties, and was thinking the same thing. Could be Nintendo plugging NSMBW over 3 pages? Plus there are 3 double page ads; Modern Warfare 2, DJ Hero, and RG's subs page. All told I count 10 out of the first 21 pages are ads.

That said, flicking through the rest of the mag, the articles look excellent btw, the ad content didn't seem to be coming quite so thick and fast.
