Yes we know there were other 8-bit systems, but we're sticking with the three that everyone knows best. So come on, which one of these beauties is going to rule all?

I've already voted ;)

The spectrum for me. The things people could do with the limit colour palette.

I'm going with everybodys favourite underdog, the Amstrad. My favourite computer........ though I prefer the 6128 :)

Always Amstrad!

The CPC464 suffered slightly by being pushed as a business machine in the war against the C64 and Speccy but beneath the garish coloured keys was an abundance of power which allowed for some very impressive graphics (Prince of Persia and Titus The Fox spring to mind), decent sound and many great games. In the later years, the machine really came into its own as enthusiasts took over from the professional programmers and really pushed the CPC to its limits - Fluff and Zap T Balls were two great looking, superb playing titles. This machine really has a place in my heart.

I like them too...

It gives us a chance to bicker about the questions that matter!

And the breadbin was far less accessible than the wonderful Spectrum in my biased opinion.

I think this Poll is quite biased and a little unfaire - not all your readers where mad on these 3 machines and maybe should realy include the Atari 400/800/xl as they were just as popular as the Amstrad or even the C64 (800xl was far better than these two put together in my opinion). Thats my winge out of the way - I'm not voting for any of them.
Atari 800XL thrashes the C64 every time!!!
(well, nearly everytime)

C64, first and always.

I'm becoming increasingly impressed recently, however, with some Amstrad stuff I'm trying via emu.

I always hated the Spectrum when I was younger and sneered at my ZX owning friends, but over the last couple of years I've become more open minded and was absolutely wowed last year when reviewing "Abe's Mission: Escape".

But all said, the C64 is always for me... 8)

C64. Always.

When I was at school there were only two sides to this: Commodore v's Sinclair. I should try some Amstrad games as they look similar to the C64.

Yes, I remember the Atari 400 having a dedicated magazine until mid-1995....

Oh wait, no I don't. ;)
