The making of Druid really had me grinning. Love that game. The turbo outrun feature was nice, and it made me want to have a crack on it, as back in the day I turned my nose up at it in arcades (although I'm not sure why - it couldnt have been that bad)

Just a small moan that I felt compelled to post :)

Any videogame cover with Jean Claude Van Damme on it (or an unlicensed lookalike) deserves all the hatred you can muster.

Despite being a big C64 fan, I've always been a little surprised C64 Turbo OutRun was held in such high regard. Aside from the music, I felt crushingly disappointed with it after high hopes from the Zzap!64 review. The car seemed too big and the game was horribly fragmented. I always thought Chris Butler's relatively overlooked Power Drift was a better crack at an impossible-to-convert arcade game.

Power Drift is good, probably deserving of the Sizzler. It's remarkable how much Chris Butler managed to pack into a single load, and Dave Lowe's excellent score suits the action so well.

As for Turbo, it was an impressive attempt to match the scale of the cross-country road race it portrayed. The music in particular is awesome. But I played it from tape, and that multiload really damaged the experience of playing for me. So I would have given that a Sizzler too.

yeah the C64 version of Powerdriift wasnt too bad but I felt it didnt have enough of the "tilty" action. But what I did to rectify this was place two telephone book underneath the legs of one side of my chair and DWO-LAH! a near-perfect arcade rendition!

Just as bizarre to see Gordon Kennedy (that Scottish bloke who used to present the lottery) on there as Max as well

That screen should have had a caption explaining it was from Beats of Rage, it must have gotten lost on the way to the printers. ;)

I'm guessing that the lack of feedback is either an indication that everyone is happy, or that no one has picked up the mag this month. :|
