Another Great Issue, packed full of content , and i've had plenty of time to read it, being off sick!

Personally, the only content i skipped was the Final Fantasy Article. Personally, i never got into the game back in the 90's and it kind of bypassed me. the thought of sitting through endless cut screens and dialogue didn't appeal to and kinda still doesn't.

Highlights for me, Jetpac, Monty Mole and the Domark article.

No Glaring errors for me, other than listing "love shack" as being sung by the BC-52 in the back to the 90's spread :D

Keep up the great work
Oops. My brain just hit a bad sector.

My copy arrived today.

Very good idea from jdanddiet (letters page) regarding the Indie games on XBLA, I would like to buy more of them but there are so many it's hard to know where to start. Would be great to see RG covering the best of them.

Love the C64 top 25 - if we are going to have "lazy" content then this is much better than the horrific LAP. Did Paradroid really get the most votes? from what I remember from the thread it looked like Wizball had the top spot nailed on.

Good issue all round, cover not great but will be a popular choice im sure, and that Atari cover that has been mentioned in a few posts was fcuking awful.

I'd be interested in seeing the number of votes on each of the games if Darran has them handy, just to see how close some of the games were to each other.

When is this due out in the shops ? I can't wait for the FF7 and Radiant Silvergun features! Personally I couldn't give a censored about Manic Miner.

I don't unfortunately, but there was literally about 4 points in it. Both Wizball and Paradroid were miles ahead of the other games though by a significant margin.

Mine's arrived, but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Obviously looking forward to the FFVII article.

As for people moaning about the FF series appearing on the front cover of RG twice now... I fully expect to see another next year seeing as its the series' 25th anniversary ;)

I don't recall anyone "moaning" about FF being on the cover twice. It seemed more a case of folk humouring just how similar the cover artwork is to a previous cover.

I've been with RG since issue 1.

I saw the relaunch issue at the Retro Ball back in Dec '05 before it hit the shelves a couple of months later. It's the only mag I look forward to each and every month (and I get a fair few cycling/video editing/Mac/Linux etc). All the other mags I've gotten for a long time seem to have their ups and downs and times where the content is light or seems to lack conviction. Not so RG. It's been consistently high quality all this time, IMO.

@Darran: keep doing what you do.

The covers look nothing alike so I can't see the problem. Perhaps I'm alone in this but I stick the mags on my shelf after I've read 'em and never really pay attention to covers again anyway.

I agree. My favourite reviews, blog posts and gaming-related youtube vids are those that really lay into crappy games. Bringing the creators to justice after all these years would be fun :)

Finished reading the issue, and I'm impressed. Once again a nice balance between different aspects of gaming, and some good in-depth articles. Particularly enjoyed the Final Fantasy VII piece and the way it handled a significant event in the game, and the Top 25 C64 Games exceeded my expectations. I was worried it was going to be a fairly standard list piece, but the descriptions were spot on and it was a good list of titles. The Domark piece was very informative, and the Monty Mole history gave one or two interesting insights.
