Although the Aztec Challenge Making Of.. seemed to be cut short. I was enjoying a good read, as usual, when it I turned the page to find another article. I don't know if it was just me but I thought it was a bit stunted.

Anybody else?

Yes. I thought it was far too short, and I was really surprised when I turned the page and it was Basildon Bond!

Yeah, I had planned it to be 4 pages and had interviewed Paul Norman with that in mind but there wasn't enough room for the full 'Making of' treatment in that issue so it had to be cut down to 2 pages. I had a bit of a think, and changed the format so it was like a 'director's commentary' on the 7 'scenes' in the game, so it would at least say summat about every level in the game at the expense of talking about the development process and some background on Paul himself.

On a positive note, because this was such a short article, I asked Darran if maybe in the future (late 2012?), I could 'revisit' Paul Norman for an In the Chair or Desert Island Disks piece looking at his whole illustrious career. He kindly said yes. Paul did some top games and has this lovely, laconic way of chatting about them, so hopefully that will be fun to read.

Ta for the interest.
