Good few like myself carried on with upgrade path to ST or Amiga, but it took something more to get a good few of us to return to the fold.Same thing happened with 3DO/Jaguar era, lot stayed with MD/Snes until Playstation hit, hype train an all.
I was still at school until 1993, so the first consoles i bought with my first job wages were the CD32 (my upgrade path to AGA with SX1 and disk drive, carried on playing Amiga games for many years later this way) this satisfied me until Sep 1995 when the Playstation came out, i looked at the 3D0 and Neo Geo CD, but they were both £400, the Jaguar didnt have enough games, the Saturn too was £400 at launch, but with lacklustre launch games and only a few months to the PSX came out, so the Amiga kept me going till then, when it launched it wasnt the Sony hype train we all hate nowadays, Sony were fresh, the Playstation was cool to own with Wipeout and its dance tracks, it wasnt until a year into its life and it starting to become mainstream i got turned off a little from it, but the first year of the Playstation was the best memories of that time....i picked up a Saturn in 1997 i think it was, when it dropped to £99 and it all but died off in the UK, Sega Rally, VC, VF2, Worldwide Soccer, that was a great cheap xmas too! Only two years till the Dreamcast!....
