Its not that exciting and overlong (even though its a short game).

Its alright, just lacking in variety. Primarily a combat exploration game, but the combat is weak and the environments a bit dull.

You can't help but like the lead character (who doesn't like a scantily clad vampire chick?) but the voice acting is woeful throughout to its detriment, so bad its not even funny.

Not sure if I should tackle its sequel or take a break with something else, but its at least partially satisfied my curiosity. I've been meaning to play these since the first film came out.

Yeah I thought it was quite average but who could get bored of shooting up enemies and hacking off heads in slow-mo? Honestly, it was great with a machinegun because you can run rings around an enemy and watch each bullet hit. It does get a bit repetitive and there are some frustrating sections as well as bosses but I enjoyed Blood Rayne a lot.

The sequel is even better. It feels familar and yet the combat is all overhauled with lots of new gameplay elements and far more interaction with the scenery. It's a great sequel because anybody who played the original can jump straight in and yet there's enough new bits to warrant its existence. Obviously it's not the best game in the world but its well worth checking out.

Completed Max Payne 2 on Xbox last night, in preparation for a start on Max Payne 3 which I received in the post this morning. :)

Didn't like the storyline as much as the first one to be honest but the game was still a lot of fun and had some very well designed levels (the Address Unknown Funhouse was pretty clever), and the in-game TV shows were hilarious, I'm still laughing when I think about 'Lords & Ladies' now

Completed Resonance of Fate this evening. After almost 100 hours of fairly tedious battling I have to say I'm quite relieved its over. I briefly considered a second playthrough to aim for the Platinum trophy (it wouldn't take long seeing as it lets you retain your level & equipment), but after seeing how difficult the post-completion dungeon is I just can't be doing with all the boring hours of grinding.

Overall it wasn't a bad game (I quite liked the characters and the often comical banter between them), but not a game I'd recommend unless someone has a lot of time on their hands...

^^Can you complete it quicker as I've been thinking about picking it up recently after seeing it around but really don't have the time to put in 100 hours.

Dead Space on 360. Finished it last night and started DS2 but have gone back tonight to mop up a few achievements, it's really fun going through second time around, nearly fully powered-up and nigh-on invincible. Never bothered with the Ripper first time through but it's so god-damned FUN, wish I'd have used it on my first playthrough, slicing the necromorphs up in slo-mo never gets old. :D

Pokemon SoulSilver. After sailing through capturing Ho-oh and Articuno , i think i just spent a lifetime capturing Zapdos , then took a relatively weak team (none over 75) and walked all over Red.

I understand its not the 'end' but a little ending would have made me feel a bit better.Add to that I still have plenty more to capture , a couple of legendaries still out there taunting me and now I have a real need to get hold of some UK GBA pokemon games to assist trading.

Think i need to get out more!

I loved the fun house level, especially as you revisit it later and have the huge shootouts in it. I got spooked at several points and unloaded a clip or two into the cardboard cutouts  I didn't like the protect quests especially the last one toward the end of the game as enemies managed to show up everywhere and kill the poor sod while I was distracted. Gotta love the little TV shows though, I liked how each one of them had an ongoing storyline as you progressed through the game. I love the little touches like that.

Just finished Paper Mario on the Gamecube for the second time, just as enjoyable as the first time many years ago.

Yet to try that one - finished my VC download of Paper Mario (n64) but it freezes right at the end,so not sure if i want a repeat - hoped it would allow me to re-explore with the same save. Meh.

?

Is that a glitch? I'm playing the N64 version on VC at the moment and don't want to get to the end for the game to freeze. Or do you mean that the game just ends after the credits and you can't freely go back wherever you want to?

Prince of Persia Sands of Time on PS2.

Combat was utterly shocking, what a load of rubbish. Rest of the game is superb. I might skip the second game and move onto the third.

Might be for the best. They ramped up the combat significantly in Warrior Within and to be honest its still not that good (I still quite enjoyed the game myself though). The third game add in stealth moves and quick takedowns so most encounters last far less time or are completely avoidable altogether.

Lol , sorry wasnt very clear. End sequence finished and I was left with IIRC Mario and peach in a semi static picture with 'the end' on it (think they were watching fireworks).

That was it , no press start to continue or anything - left it for 10 mins to be sure but had to reset in the end. Expected it to save at the end so you could carry on and freely explore - maybe finish errands etc like a lot of games do. No - my game sat frozen with my pre-ending save intact. Maybe there is a problem with my download. If so I dont mind downloading again , dont know anyone with an original who could let me know.

^^^ Ah that sounds alright then. You'd probably have to hit the reset button on the N64 in the original unless it's just the way the game is emulated on the VC. Good luck finding somebody with the real game who has actually completed it and not hoarded it for its value to get a second opinion from

If it helps, you can go back in the GC sequel to mop up any unfinished business post-end of game boss. It's a great game, one of my Gamecube favourites and I'd heartily recommend it :)

I completed every mission possible in that time, but I guess most of the missions are worth doing to help level up, which you need to do a lot of! When I was fighting the last boss I think I was quite underlevelled so I'd be surprised if many people complete the game in less than 70 hours without a strategy guide.
