gminty, this might sound like the dumbest query ever, but has a bullet time feature ever been implemented into a 2D shooter? I guess it would be ultimately pointless, but possibly useful in regards to memorizing certain attack patterns....

I seem to remember that Espgaluda by Cave uses this mechanic, you can use it for tricky sections and it also multiplies the score. It's actually quite interesting to play and for me at least it means I don't die as much!!

Didn't Cave's Guwange use Bullet Time.. If you held the button down that female ghost turned the Bullets blue and they moved really slow, and if the enemy died the bullets became blue.. It was still impossibly hard mind..

Hot off the press from Kotaku:

Once again proving itself the shmup console of choice, the Xbox 360 is getting a port of Cave developed arcade shooting game Mushihime-sama Futuari. Yes, that game.

Several Cave shoot 'em ups have already been ported over to the Xbox 360 with varying degrees of success. Take the 5pb ported DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black EXTRA, which is so buggy that sales of the game had to be halted.

Good news: Cave will be porting Mushihime-sama Futari itself. The Xbox 360 version is currently 20 to 30 percent finished and will be built upon the arcade's 1.5Ver. According to Cave, the game's graphics will get an upgrade.

Cave is trying to balance the game for the Xbox 360 console, however. It will include a "Normal" mode for beginner players as well as an "Abnormal" mode for more experience, abnormal players. There are plans for downloadable content as well as online ranking and online score attack.

The release date and pricing for Mushihime-sama Futari are still forthcoming.

Great news I really can't wait to see this shooter.

News about another 360 shooter!!

"Best known of its King of Fighters fighting games, SNK Playmore is releasing a fighting-meets-shooting game for Xbox LIVE Arcade. It's currently sporting the temp title of The King of Fighters Sky Stage.

The game features characters from the KoF series in a traditional shoot'em up game — each with special shooting skills. There's a two player mode, too."

That Mushihime-sama Futari cover looks really nice, I really need to think about a Japanese 360 sometime as it is obvious that it has definetly become the choice of console when it comes to Shmups this generation. What ever happened to Deathsmiles? Has it been released yet or not? All I remember is the LE being even more limited and thats the last I heard from it!

That KOF game looks... different. Kyo and Athena in a Vertical Shmup. I won't be surprised if Rugal shows up (along with his battleship and big Jet.) At least this one will actually see a Euro release....eventually!

Dodge that! Seriously, I'm really impressed with anyone that can play these cames well, I'd just panic with this amount of bullets!

Oh dear, the news we've all been expecting in the 360 shmup community (there is one, honestly).

Looks like the release date of Ketsui has gone TBA:

http://kotaku.com/5222247/developer-con ... oter-ports

This was expected due to 5pb being late with the release Dodonpachi DOJ and presumably they're trying to sort out the bugs with that port too.

It's also gone TBA on Play-Asia

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-br- ... -347l.html

Looks like I will be getting Death Smiles this month after all!!

well at least we will be getting the snk shooter on xbla,it just sickens me that all these great cave shooters are staying in japan sad but true. :(
i noticed over at the ufo website that there is a secret project, are they going to be releasing raiden4 me thinks.
now all we need is a publisher for raiden fighters aces and raiden4 in europe and i will be happy.

Yep I don't think any of those Cave games will get a Uk or even American release, sat but true. Hell we might not even get RFA! Actually RFA is good fun but there are some better 360 shooters out there.

Raiden 4 is a great game and really does deserve to be played by more people, there are loads of great shooters coming out for the 360 this year :D
