NES PAL B Games

Postby TyronW on Tue Jun 09, 2009 10:57 pm

I've got the toaster NES A console, and I bought Fester's Quest on the NES, however it turned out to be B. It plays for a few seconds but then restarts. Is this normal for B games on a A system? I know they're not meant to play, but its kinda harsh to give you a sneak look and snatch it away.

Also regarding a PAL toploader NES, is it true the only place you can get it in Australia? I believe they play NTSC and PAL A/B games - and also don't appear to break down as much as the original toaster version.

I'm not sure about your Pal B question, as far as I know they shouldn't work at all.

Regarding the Toploader, you can definitely get them from the US, always seems to be a few on Ebay US. It's true they're more reliable because you're inserting the games vertically instead of horizontally, however there's not always 100% compatibility with all the games.

The mod to get PAL-B working on an A machine is very simple. You only have to do one simple cut. Look it up on google.
