I've put roughly 25 hours into the game so far and i must say it's pretty good. I got a 23 Hunter, 15 Soldier and a 13 Berzerker. Wanna try out all the classes before i decide upon a main. =)
But frankly this game is a FPS with some RPG elements. Not the other way around, so the classes are pretty similar imo. Just the special abilty that puts the apart, give or take a few key talents. But it's still a fun game, especially co-op. Some of the reviews on the big sites and the big game mags are kinda unfair. It seems most of them went into the game expecting Fallout III, and if you got that mindset i think you will be dissapointed.

The game is solid! Fun to play single player but top fun in co-op! It definitely has that "think about what to do whilst at work" feel to it, which i haven't felt since Sacred 2! Also have never had any online issues, which is a big plus!

I'm far from the best gamer in the world but the difficulty of this game is well balanced. For example, i attempted to take out the two tough skags (Meg and Mosely or summat?) and couldn't touch them. Cue run away, level up a bit more doing other missions at hand, get slightly better weapons, come back, job done! I always find the game a challenge, but it's never too difficult to make me give up!

Tried Hunter, then tried Brick, and have settled on the berserker. Nothing quite as satisfying as uppercutting someones head off whilst in a rage! And the health regen whilst doing it can be a lifesaver at times.

Top, top game that comes highly recommended from a relative n00b! :D

Yea i've shifted over to the berzerker too. He's 28 now, and im just running thru everything and everyone like a juggernaut. I'm specced tank/blaster and my mainweapon is the shotgun. Really fun!

MIght get this DLC. Me and a friend have started playing this game again after beating to 2 times a few months ago. Damn good game imo, and undeserving of all the hate it gets. Yea sure it's simple and a grinder game. But i think the feeling of progress when you get a new weapon is fun, and it works very well as a Co op game.

Does anyone know if the GOTY edition of this is a double disc with the dlc on the second disc or is it 1 disc with everything on or is it just a dlc code you get inside the box? thanks :D

I picked up the 360 Goty edition and thats on two discs, game on one disc, dlc's on the other. The Secret Armoury alone is 1.7gb...

I would assume the Ps3 version is all on one disc but tbh I don't know.

I finished this yesterday and loved every minute, its a little lite on story but the gameplay more than makes up for it, imo. Just got the Secret Armory left to do.

It's changed then, as the first editions of the GotY release had the DLC as downloadable codes.

I picked up a second hand copy up a few weeks back as I didn't know whether I'd like the game or not. So, I honestly don't know if there's been any changes made.

Ding! Champion. I wasn't going to bother with the 360 version again because I now have the PC version and I prefer mouse & keyboard control. However, since I already had a leveled up character I thought I'd just blast a few more enemies just to get a much needed cheevo (for earning Level 50) to boost my meagre total. When I've finished my playthrough on the PC, will I be finished with this game?

I don't think so. I mean, all the different guns you can get mean there are endless strategies; I know there are only a few basic types but the bonuses and elemental damage provide lots of variety. Also I think at the very least I'll try some different characters. I've only ever played Lilith as with her phasewalk she is an excellent safety first option. But I may try out the other characters. Did a few levels with Mordecai on the 360 but actually he's not the best choice of character on a joypad operated game - I'll give him a run on the PC. Might give Brick a go on 360 as I expect his melée-based skills won't be reduced by the lack of that kind of accuracy that a mouse provides.

This is a fantastic game. Been playing it on and off ever since it came out.

Me and a friend have finished this game probably 20 times now! Every times a new DLC has come out we've replayed the whole game (well, not with Moxxys Underdome Riot but the other ones) from start to finish + DLC. We started on the 360 but has since then moved to the PC because that offers better gameplay even if I think the 360 works well considering its a FPS, they've made the controls pretty much as good as they come considering.

So what makes me love this game so much?
I love a game that uses random item drops, and I dont mean WoW style "random" (yeah right. bullshit.) drops where the items are scripted and have predetermined values but where the items truly feel random with slight differences. After finishing Borderlands as many times as we have now you notice patterns in the weapons and you can see that the system isnt perfect when you find 2 of the same gun with the same name even tho its not one of the unique weapons. Random drops is the way to go, my love for this system started with Diablo and I dont know why people would use another system.

Another thing I love about this game is the humor and the small subtle things such as the grafitti you can find such as turtles all the way down.

I could go on and on but this is truly one of the best, if not the best games of 2009. And I'm not nearly done with the game yet either as me and my friend have another LAN party coming up where we plan to play only this and my Dreamcast in between (Power Stone, Ikaruga).
