Should this be in the Let's Play forum?

Beach-Head II was something entirely different from the first game, and you could say directly set up for competitive play. Only the helicopter stage was really weak in that respect, the other three parts all had their positives. Be it trying to mow down the hapless soldiers in stage one, figuring out how to dupe the defences in stage two (along with making the prisoner walk faster by shooting him hah hah!) and the manic knife throwing of stage four. And as mentioned, there was the excellent speech to add to the atmosphere.

Beach Head II was ok but you can't beat the first though. Bloody challenging and very addictive. Mind you, the 3rd game in the arcade with the chair and massive joystick was pretty damned good. Being able to change from heavy machine gun to 100mm Cannon with a press of a button on your chair control is a damned good idea. At the time, it made me feel like I was actually controlling a massive cannon on the beach, protecting good ol' Blighty!

Beach Head 2 C64-The outstanding speech....my fav`s?

MEDIC!!!

I`m hit!

(The dictator`s) You can`t hurt me

The class, Drawn out death scream as you plummeted into the icy water,In fact the whole knife fight sequence between the Dictator and JP Stryker, just genius.

Only bit i felt a tad lacking compared to the rest was the helicopter sequence.

Playing this on a PSP these days? just outstanding.

Found the game more enjoyable and more challenging than the 1st game.

Yeah, that's the only one I know about, as I said. :?

But that isn't an actual continuation of the original Beach Head series is it? It's just a separate arcade game (albiet a very good one) based around the same thing.

Beach Head was pretty good, I'm struggling to remember the difference between the two. But I do recall enjoying them. The one which had you parachuting in the first stage was my favourite I think heh. I had both games on the Speccy. Didn't play the C64 versions till much later, and very good they were too.

Iam assuming 'That Raid over Moscow' is being considered a Beach Head Sequel here?

Beach Head 2 rocked.. 2 player was consitantly the most awesome thing ever. I cant play it in one player now without feeling empty

Raid Over Moscow, great graphics, really hard well, i spent years tryingto get them planes outta the hanger and then cracked it weasily but yes wicked all round!

A quick search of Mobygames reveals that there was in fact a Beach Head 2002. Never heard of it before in my life.

Yeah , I got the demo too , but never saw the full thing. The arcade game was pretty cool , with the cannon/machine gun switiching nicely.

As for BHII , well it had a great first level - but you could pretty much forget the rest. The main problem was that it simply couldnt decide whether it was a 1 or 2 player game , and ended up satisfying neither camp
I'd far rather be happy than right any day.

I don't know mate. All I know is it had Beach Head in the title and it bore an uncanny resemblance, and a next gen one at that, to the original and plays exactly the same.
