I was rearranging my retro gaming set-up this evening and decided to get out the Gamecube and hook it up to my portable telly. I can play GC games on my Wii on the HD TV, but its no harm having a way to play them in good ole' SD. Anyway, hooked it up and decided to play a random game to see how it looked. Viewtiful Joe was at the top of a pile so I decided to chuck it in, without a memory card, and give it a bash from the start. And it really is ace.

I've done a fair bit of Capcom bashing of late, but they really did make some of the best games of the last generation. The gameplay in Viewtiful Joe is stunning. The graphics, even on my crappy little 14" portable through a composite lead are a joy to behold - shows the Gamecube up as being a tremendous little system, graphically. The art design is super.

I have a fair few holes in my GC collection -a lot of which are actually quite inexpensive to fill, such as Monkey Ball, Luigi's Mansion and Beach Spikers.

Where is this game £12? If you can find it for that I would gladly pay it. It is hitting over £35 on auctions on ebay. I already have it on PS2 so paying huge sums is not something I am prepared to do.

If you wanna sell your PS2 version to help it along I'd take it off of you, assuming it's PAL. :)

No, I'm assuming it's just a typo that has caused so much confusion!

I think the Dual Shock Edition only came out in America and Japan. Not sure if the PAL version has Dual Shock features as standard (my copy isn't easily reachable at the minute to check) or if we didn't get it at all. Anyway, the upgraded version was used as the basis for several other ports such as the PC, Dreamcast etc. but there is no PS2 version.

It was. All that extra stuff is in the Wii version too.

What? That makes less sense, since Resi 4 on the cube IS quite cheap, isn't it?

I see it often for sub £10. Certainly one of the cheapest 'cube RE games.
