No Last Story for me today.

On the one hand that's alright as currently playing other stuff but on the other it kind of defeats the point of pre-ordering when it's going to be a minimum of three days after release before I receive it.
Buy my stuff here.

Same with me, I pre-ordered it but it's yet to come. I'm still playing Xenoblade Chronicles so I'm not particularly bothered, although as you say it kinda defeats the point of a pre-order.

Did your pre-orders specify that it would be delivered by the release date?

Otherwise a pre-order is basically just a reservation, the bright side is you will definitely get it (unless you preordered with Game), and at a sane price compared to ebay prices should copies be scarce in future.

I signed up for a month's trial of Amazon Prime in the course of ordering The Last Story. I placed my order at about half five yesterday and received it shortly before 9 this morning. Not sure how much Amazon Prime usually costs but this is a luxury I probably won't normally be able to afford.

Anyway, it looks pretty decent. Because of my 360 control pad use (I use it on the PC as well) I always find it difficult to adapt to the Wii Classic Controller, but so far it looks promising. I will be finishing Kingdoms of Amalur first though so it might be a while until I get round to this. Wanted to get my hands on a copy early doors in case stocks run out!

Got mine today. Not yet played it, but the whole Ltd Ed package looks lovely. :3

And the Pandora's Tower set is looking nice too.

I was thinking today that so many people complain that places sometimes don't get the order in on release day yet there is normally an option for guaranteed delivery.

There is, it's called ordering from Shopto.net instead. :)

Yeah, I know I ended up paying a little more, but at least I'm not left in limbo come launch days.

Well I played a bit of Last Story and it does seem very good but visually it is ugly as hell. It is covered in the same OTT filters that MH Tri and Twilight Princess has. I swear it is to lower jaggies on HDTV but on a CRT it looks disgusting.

Thats a real shame. Might not pick it up then if there's no visual appeal to it

It not that it is badly designed visually, but it looks really blurry on a CRT. Xenoblade was crisp as was Skyward Sword. They have just over filtered it. I played it to the town and frankly there are better looking games on last gen machines.

Have you hooked it up via component to an lcd to check if the filters are any softer?

I don't think it looks quite as good as Xenoblade, but it still looks decent (I'm using component cable on an LCD)...the gameplay and mechanics are what matter mostly with it though.

If you're going to judge whether to buy a game based mainly on it's visuals, then you're on the discussion thread for the wrong console. :|

a pretty ignorant statement to make, considering such artistic beauties are out there for the wii already.

Visuals are not everything obviously, but can a guy not be concerned about them for a wii game?
