See, this is my main problem with the SNES - it's always the same few games that get mentioned over and over. When folk like Cauterize there point out the "hidden gems", that's when I get interested, as there's some great stuff that doesn't have the words "Super" or "Mario" in the title.

Anyone played one called Zig Zag Cat? Plays like a cutesier version of Devilish, I like it a lot.
There's also Majyuuou, which is like Castlevania only with guns (and is also a billion times better than Super Castlevania IV).

Great game. I did a review of it once but still havent got round to buying it. Macross Scrambled Valkyrie, Doremi Fantasy & The Firemen are worthy mentions.

All my games are boxed up at the moment so I'll just post the pics from last May. Since then I've picked up a complete Unirally and I'm sure there was another two games but I really cannot remember what, but apart from that it's still pretty much the same as I've been concentrating on my Cube collection. Once I've finished with that I'll be going back to the SNES as it's still my favourite console and there are still a few games that I am after.

Cheers, my SNES collection would be the last to go if I ever had to sell anything.

What, binning Super Play issues, are you mad?

For some reason the only issue I seem to be missing is the gold edition, no idea why as I had the magazine on order with my local newsagent all those years ago.

I have one issue of Super Play, which I found in someone's recycling bin outside their house. Not that I spend my evenings rooting through the bins of my neighbors, you understand.

I wondered where my old copy of Super Play had gone...was accidentally put in the recycling bin but had gone when I went to retrieve it.

On the slightly obscure games front, you should try Super Turrican 2....it feels more like a Contra game than a Turrican one and has elements of Bionic Commando and some flying ship scrolling shoot 'em up levels in there too. One of my favourite games that not many people seem to have played.

Sounds good, I like a bit of Contra/Bionic Commando. Is it any different to Mega Turrican on the MD? Or just another case of the same game with the only difference being "Super" instead of "Mega"?

I think that the first Super Turrican and Mega Turrican are more or less the same game (unless somebody corrects me).

Super Turrican 2 on the other hand has all new levels where you use a grappling hook a lot (Bionic Commando stylee) and bits where you control vehicles. It's all good stuff, at the end of the first level you fight a giant sandworm and most of the battle takes place in it's huge open mouth :D

A giant sandworm??? Sold :D

That stupid PSP emulator won't play it at full-speed, it seems, so looks like it's going to be a laptop jobby.

I thought (the excellent) Mega Turrican on MD is the same as the Amiga's Turrican 3 but Super Turrican is a completely different game exclusive to SNES.
