Well I got my Kid Icarus code yesterday so I gave the game a little go. I quite like the blend of old-school NES visuals and 3D effects but it didn't take long for me to die

Also still playing Starfox 64 3D and trying to uncover all the different levels/routes. I'm horrendously bad at getting medals though so I don't think I'll bother. I just enjoy the general gameplay as I did with the Arwing sections of Assault on the 'cube.

Is it supposed to show up as soon as you register the second game?

Yes, it shows up as soon as you register the second game, but you might not be seeing it if you're on the wrong page of the site....it shows up in the 'Club Nintendo' section, not the 'My Account/My Registered Games' sections

The website is one of the most user-unfriendly ones I've come across in a while....go to nintendo.co.uk, log into your account, then near the top of the screen you shoud see some blue page tabs....one of them says 'Club Nintendo'. Click on this one, and then at the top right of the Club Nintendo page that appears you should see a box saying you're entitled to a free download of Kid Icarus, with a link to click on to enter and confirm your email address. Just underneath that, there should be another box with a link to click on to enter the competition to win a special 3DS.

If they're still not showing up after you follow those steps, either something on your PC is blocking them, or the website is just being plain awkward. Have you tried using a different browser?

I've also had plenty of 404 errors with it when trying to register some games in the past...it usually makes you do the whole questionnaire all over again

Just tried Firefox, Chrome and IE, nothing works. I can access my account page but when I click Club Nintendo directly it never works.

I give up.

Thanks for that.

I'll post my code next time I boot up the 3DS.

Have the same problem with my account on nintendo.de . Tried support but their incompetent team was no help at all.

Looks like we are getting downloadable demo's as of tomorrow:

Hopefully the RE demo isn't the short one that was packed with Mercanaries, it should at least tide me over until the game is released next week.

Glad that MGS3D is getting a demo in the future as well, I've wanted to try that game as the 3D implementation looked impressive in the 3D vids released but I'm still unsure of playing a game like that on a handheld.

I gave the demo a try as well. 3d seems decent when you crank it all the way up, it gives an impressive sense of depth for each room.

Other this I noticed were a distinct lack of ammo (which is cool, makes for more tense fights as you can't afford to waste ammo so much) and it was harder than I though, those monster things killed me first time through, they seem more dangerous than ganandos and zombies were. Can you still perform melee moves against stunned enemies? I didn't get chance to check as I couldn't really tell if I were stunning them.

Really cool and atmospheric. Certainly felt closer to the older re games than the last couple have been.

im not sure about context-sensitive melees, but i got knocked down but, kept firing from the floor, by the heavily armoured monster in the last corridor and 'Y' flashed up which i pressed to get up again, so the mechanic is at least in there. Didnt come up during actual combat tho so i'd imagine its not.

Not sure how melee is implemented, but you can do a 'dodge' move which is push the controller in a direction and press 'b' at the same time as someone attacks.

In terms of the ammo supply, it's not too bad - you can use the scanner to unearth extra ammo anyway and you get power-ups etc for your weapons. I'm about 5 or 6 hours in now - one bit was fairly tough until I figured it out but at the moment I'm on a proper freaky scary bit so might play it in the daytime! :)

I completely missed the scanner first time through which didn't help at all! After getting it I managed to scrounge enough ammo to take the ooze out. Didn't realise about the dodge button move, that'll no doubt be invaluable in many situations! Only a week left to wait now...

Tip of the day - Circle Pad Pro makes Resi 3DS MUCH better - I'm so surprised at by how much. You can control properly whiles in aiming mode - like proper walk around and move the camera at the same time, which I'm pretty certain is the most control you've ever been allowed in a Resi game? Pretty much makes combat an FPS. And being able to control the camera whilst moving and exploring makes it much more user friendly.
It's also for me makes the 3DS more comfy to hold, which I would never ever have thought would happen as I was super cynical about the whole idea of it. It still looks pretty silly wrapped around a blue 3DS console though.
