Hello peeps - James/Stylus from RGCD here.

We're working with Psytronik on this one - and we'll be selling the cart (with them handling digital/tape/disk versions). I can understand that people will be interested in the convenience of the cart version for real C64's, but this does have a downside over the tape and disk...

...this is a brand new 64KB cart (the pcb was only recently designed and built!) and it *will* be more expensive than the disk and tape versions. We haven't established a unit cost yet, but I'm guessing the cart will sell between £25-30 including world wide shipping.

At cost price without any mark-up at all for the developers, we're looking at over £20 already - the cartridge hardware isn't cheap, neither is getting all these extras made up OR royal mail shipping! - and worst of all, about £1.40 per game goes straight to paypal :/

Ideally, I'd want at least that amount (per copy sold) to also go to Smila, Georg and Mikkel for their work (and not forgetting me!).

More news will follow (from Smila probably) :)

Not soulless related... but Fairy Well is now available to buy on cartridge! Quoting the news bulletin from my site (http://www.rgcd.co.uk):

At long last, RGCD are proud to present Wide Pixel Games' universally acclaimed Fairy Well on cartridge! The winning entry of 2011's C64 16KB cartridge game development competition, Fairy Well is a unique and ambitious flick-screen collect-em-up arcade adventure of epic proportions squeezed into a tiny 16KB of ROM space.

With it's multiple game modes (via a character selection at the beginning of your quest), huge randomly generated level maps, varied enemies and items, boss-battles and timeless adventure gameplay, Fairy Well is a modern C64 classic. Guide your fairy through the labyrinthine underworld on your quest to rescue the captured princess and restore peace to the forest!

Fairy Well is both NTSC and PAL compatible, and it's joystick-only control means that it's even playable on the Commodore 64 GS console. The box artwork was created by our resident artist Flemming Dupont, and the game comes in a purple cartridge shell complete with a printed manual and exclusive sticker.

Grab your copy today from our online shop (£20 Europe/£21 Rest of World, shipping included).

Here's the shop page link:http://www.rgcd.co.uk/p/shop.html

And here's the game available to download for free (for those who missed it first time round): http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=103151

Soulless is due next! ;)

Looking forward to it. I will be particularly interested in the cartridge, so James, if you can let us know when this becomes available I'd be much obliged.
