I beat the first two dungeons but I'm taking a break now, mostly due to boredom. Its not a bad game but I played it in 1998 with a better control system.

I love the negativity that has been surrounding this game. It is ok to play the same style games year in year out but when it comes to Zelda, suddenly it isn't ok. A fair few forums have been saying it, just like Ocarina then posting about how amazing Street Fighter 4/Mortal Kombat/Gran Turismo/Forza4 etc are.

^its probably the COD fanboys complaining as its not mostly brown and grey.
Same with people complaining about how it looks. Its on the Wii DEAL WITH IT!
I do have a few annoyances that I will jot down when im not nackerd

There may be some things that are the same, but at least it trys something different rather than being a upgraded copy paste.

It would be fair to level the same criticisms at lots of other games, but that doesn't absolve zelda. The fact zelda is puzzle based means that repeated ideas are more apparent, throwing a bomb into a bosses mouth while he sucks air in :( . Playing with friends in multiplayer can extend any game and add a lot of variety, which may explain why COD gets away with it (hopefully not for too much longer). I wouldn't want multiplayer in zelda, but it is a fairly old franchise and it just seems a bit stale to me. I still think its a decent game but the only innovations seem to be the controls. You can put weasel things in the lava dungeon instead of gorgons but its still another lava dungeon.

Mortal Kombat and amazing should never be used in the same sentence unless there is also a not thrown in.

Skyward Sword is a really good game. Does anything more or less need to be said?

I'll be giving it an hour or two tonight hopefully, I need to start playing it properly!

I know it doesn't absolve Zelda but so many people seem to be moaning about the same thing yet they are happy to play the same types of games on other systems. It just seems that Zelda is getting an extra kick in the balls despite it being an exceptionally well made product.
Of course it has puzzles, of course it has dungeons and of course it shares common elements from the series as that is what the series is.

Well said.

I remember hearing a Zelda podcast where a Zelda fan says his favourite Zelda game was Okami, even though he realises it's not actually in the Zelda series. He said he preferred it to the other Zeldas game because it did things differently, to which I shouted at my PC "Well no f***ing s***!That's because it's not a f***ing Zelda game!"

I think the problem is Zelda has just been round so long, some people are just tired of it. Though these people are still largely happy to play other similar action adventure/RPGs which might suggest it's more the IP they're tired of more than the gameplay or the concept. Zelda is 25 years so that probably it get's an extra kick in the balls compared to more frequently released franchises that are still considered young and current.

^Im a Tenchu fan and I say that the best one is Shinobido
(Made by the team that made the first few Tenchus and is the same game, but with a more agile ninja)

Zelda at least changes things each new game and tries new things

The fact zelda has been the only major nintendo game released on the wii all year doesn't help. It had to be perfect, even then it might not have been enough. It is far from perfect, a good game but not worth waiting all year for. As for the extra kick in the balls, zelda always set a high standard so the criticisms are that bit more because people expect so much. Its gone from been best game ever on the N64 to another game in the crowd on wii. I feel a bit like I'm hammering it here, as I stated its not that bad at all, its just there are so many other good games around right now it just seems a bit average.

A good thing is worth the wait as it makes it better when it comes out

I think Zelda would be better if it took place in modern-day, war torn Serbia, and you could use an AK47. And you could control Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi. And you could drive a rally car.

Why didn't Nintendo think of this? They've lost it. Im fed up with them. I'm going to buy a playstation 7, it'll have better graphics and FIFA17.
