Yep, I always mention this to non-paying idiots too.

I dont mind the 4 days but lack of response to initial invoice , or simply ignoring me altogether is unnecessarily annoying. A little courtesy or asking to hold on for a few days I dont mind at all. Thinking the transaction will go away with a little ignorance is just plain stupid.

If you dont get a response after four days then enter a dispute and get it over with. But do try asking first - sometimes it just gets passed by.

It has a terrible postal service apparently, I have never had a problem though.

Yeah, postal system is terrible, things go missing all the time. Even my mates in Italy say it's crap.

Ive had contact from a customer today saying they have not received their game. Of course the game in question is fairly rare and although not majorly expensive, it wasnt bought for peanuts. Im very sceptical about it tbh, it was posted on the 21st to a UK address. So why would it take them until now to chase it up? Especially when it gets flagged up on ebay as sent on the 21st as well...Hmmm.

Also, theres a good few games in their buying history, im thinking maybe this may be a dual account holder trying to make a sneaky buck or two at an other ebayers expense. But what do I know...I have my proof of postage, so we will just complete the formalities.

Did you post it recorded? If so, fairly easy to use the tracking number and see whether the buyer is trying to pull a fast one or not.

I send everything recorded these days as you just can't trust anybody.

No, but if I bother using ebay to sell that sort of thing again. I will insist.

I'm personally staggered Italy still functions as a country given the experiences I have of it's postal, courier and telephone services. Nothing to Italy ever goes as you expect it to, even if you use a courier like TNT or UPS. Once things hit Italy, lead times seem to go out of the window.

I do not understand why people just do not pay without any communication whatsoever. I am a very patient person, but to hear absolutely nothing from these people is very annoying.

Ironically, in the last lot of games I sold, I had someone with 0 feedback and someone with 8 feedback pay instantly. Yet I am waiting 5 days now for payment from people with high feedback ratings.

Crusto, it seems us Australians are useless at paying on time :P

Naughty, very naughty  .

Re that buyer apparently not receiving his game. Long story short, Royal Mail have now issued me a refund, in the meantime I tried to refund the buyer because he had started clucking about it all. However, because my Paypal account was now empty it wouldnt let me issue one unless I went through some security procedures with them, they send me some payments and I have to tell them what they are etc etc. Its strange though because if my account is empty ebay can still take their fees via my bank, but I cant issue a refund this way? Oh is that because it involves them paying me? Of course it is. [/rant]

So anyway, sorted that out and added funds to complete the refund, which Paypal say will take up to a week to clear  The whole time I kept the guy informed of the goings on. So what does he go and do? Opens a case against me :? . Ironically a day later the funds cleared but because he forced a refund via the complaints procedure, and because there were no funds in my account at the time Paypal issued him an echeque, which wont clear until July 8th.

Serves the idiot right if you ask me, hes probably sold the game on by now anyway. I simply dont believe he hasnt received it, especially after looking at his buying history.

I'm glad to hear you got refunded.

I know what you're saying about paypal though. It's a nightmare to use and takes forever to do anything sometimes. Also, people are so unreasonable. Some of the stories in this thread are worse than anything from my almost four years of working retail.

Also after emailing my non-payers, I got a reply back from one saying he couldn't work out why the payments hadn't gone through and showed me a confirmation email from ebay. From what I can tell the guy has chosen Bank Transfer and can't work out why the money isn't in my account automatically :?

I've explained it to him, but I think he's forgotten to pay and is stalling. He's had a fair amount of transactions before.
