Hmm, ebay 'back-in-the-day' was a risky place to do business. I only buy on ebay and thought I'd recommend some sellers who have been great for a long time for me (not affiliated with them in any way).

I've used ninjascastle a fair few times over the years, but went off him a couple months ago when he was selling a load of blatantly re-sealed PS1 and GBA games..

I've had a copy of X-Men Vs Street Fighter on PS1 for sale on ebay for a few days now. It's a mildly valuable game that can do £15 upwards on auction so imagine my amusement when some chancer sends me a message asking if I'd sell it to them as a BIN for £8 inc. P&P

Ive had a few insulting BIN requests over the last few days. They even have the cheek to ask me to include postage within their diabolical offer  . Conversely I did flog a camera to a BIN offer the other day though. Not sure whether it was the right thing to do or not, but I had no idea of the value of the camera anyway. Google didnt throw up any help, so I went for it.

I automatically dismiss BIN offers, but it came back to haunt me on one occasion. I was selling a Tales of Phantasia GBA cart plus some other random worthless one and i got an offer of £15. I dismissed it as always and the auction ended on about £6

I had this one guy who I bought a game from once. I paid for the game as soon as I clicked the buy now button and sent an email in regards to how he was going to package it (as it was a brittle case). No reply and I waited for it to be marked as dispatched, I even sent emails asking if he was going to dispatch it. The guy didn't reply for 2 weeks, and I didn't receive the game either. The delivery time was pretty quick and I noticed people who had purchased after me had received their stuff so I left negative feedback (I may have been a little hasty, I dunno) saying that I wasn't getting my game and that the dude wasn't replying to my messages and I wasn't happy. Next thing, the guy replies (after 2 weeks), calling me rude because I gave him negative feedback, then said he'd actually sent it (by airmail, despite living in London, not sure if he was taking the mickey). How the hell was I supposed to know that he had dispatched it when he hasn't even told me? For all I know he could have been taking my money and not giving me what I paid for. So I wait for however long it took, it seemed like weeks, and I still got no game. So I asked him what had happened, and he said it must have been 'lost in the post' and that he couldn't give me a refund because 'PayPal were holding his accounts' or something like that, I'm not sure what that meant. He said I'd have to open a case through eBay. But the worst bit was, he said he was 'still disappointed about the negative feedback'... I haven't used eBay long, but I was thinking 'What the hell? Even if I gave him negative feedback before I knew he'd dispatched the item, then surely if I don't get the item I ordered then that means negative feedback?!? isn't that the whole point of eBay?!?'... So I opened up a case, explaining what he had said. The dude never replied to the case I opened, despite it being his suggestion, so after the time went by I just reported it to eBay and thankfully I got my money. I then went and bought the same item off a better seller for much cheaper. So I won in the end.

I still wonder if he ever sent it.

Makes me laugh when people make BIN offers and think that the p&p should automatically be included as well. :? I don't even expect that when I buy stuff off people on here, I'm always prepared to pay the extra.

There are some unbelievably cheeky f*ckers out there. :?

I made a couple of offers on a couple of items (Martianoids £50, Pentagram £35 and Bubbler £80).

Not cheeky offers at all. The sellers did shave a few quid off for me and now I buy more games from them because of it.

I wouldn't do it if they were low price items, and if the sellers had said no, I would have bought them anyway.

The minute you put a semi rare game on they start coming through. It always used to be the one for there sons birthday. I think its a couple of sellers with multiple accounts who do it though.

This camera I sold, £40 all in, was a nikon coolpix 5200 I bought way back in 2005. I only had it up for 99p, with a few extras such as a case and a couple of memory cards (64 mb and 256mb). The guy said he wanted it for his dad, I couldnt find any useful info and the value of it so I took the offer. Anyone reckon I may have missed a trick?

I recently had somebody offer me £3 for a game including postage!!!! YES 3 F**CKING POUNDS!

It would have cost nearly that just to post it!

When I refused the offer and basically told him he was taking the pee he sent some message saying something like good luck selling it at that price (was listed at £5) and come back to me when I dosn't sell and I might still take it. The game sold for £10 and I sent him a message pointing this out

I've had a few already on my Snes,Mario Kart and SSF2 and only listed last night. I tend to ignore them mostly as they are the 'inc P&P' brigade - however I did a pretty good deal with a few people over the years , despite not following the rules very well (sold a Canon XM1 camcorder for £1200 a few years back for £1200 and met the guy at the train station!!)

You just have to weigh up the facts and react accordingly. You may get a few genuinely good offers in the mire of chancers.
