Yeah, if they released KOF '98, World Heroes Perfect, Samurai Shodown III/IV, Art of Fighting 3 and one of Real Bout games then it would be much better. The first games in each respective series are still important and not bad games but they've aged enough to put buyers off.

Although with Metal Slug, I don't mind the first one being re-released since it's the best in my opinion. It has been punted back out onto compilations and download services a lot in recent years though.

Agree on Metal Slug. I was a bit miffed when I bought SNK Classics Vol. 1 on the Wii and later found out that there was a Metal Slug Anthology on the machine which also included the first game. If they were planning on releasing a complete compilation of the Metal Slug games why didn't they leave the game out of the Classics collection and bung in League Bowling, Nam-1975, Viewpoint or OverTop instead?

EDIT - or Windjammers.

Personally I was hoping for a Vol. 2 compilation. Stuff like Windjammers, The Super Spy, League Bowling and the £300+ shmups are all stuff I'd like to be able to play without messing with Neo Geo BIOS' on MAME.

Just a reliable, constantly updated digital service would do me but like I say, they always get left to rot in an unsupported limbo before the juicy games come along.

As for Metal Slug, I've now got it on SNK AC V1 plus I own both the PS2 and PSP ports of MS Anthology so although it's a storming game, I've got enough 'copies' of it!

A perfect version of Blazing Star would be all I needed to purchase that console.

I really really really like the look of this!!! :D

The proper joypad looks amazing. Far better than the usual crappy 4 way ones you get on stuff like the Dingoo

Does anyone here own either one of them or know anything much about them, i.e. quality and durability?

Thanks, nokgod. From his detailed description it seems pretty good despite one or two minor issues so that's hopefully some encouraging news for how this new NG handheld might be... especially so perhaps as it's a licensed product this time out. :D

It is interesting that it is called the 'Neo Geo Keitai'......'Keitai' means mobile phone in Japanese.

I look at that picture and imagine it without the branding and as a new Apple product - the 'iGame' which would be essentially be an 'iPhone Gamers' Edition'. If Apple released such a thing at around the time iPhone 5 arrives then I'd buy it in a heartbeat as an upgrade to my iPhone 4.

I saw this story run on Game Central on the Metro site this morning, so I'm assuming it's legit. I'm guessing it'll be like the Blaze 'gopher' Mega Drive which has the SD card slot for running Mega Drive Roms. If it is, and it's sub £60.00 I'd buy one.
