I quite liked the big PC game boxes. I suppose it made it seem like a big deal if you bought a game that came in a massive box.

N64 boxes....I hate that other people always ruin(ed) them. Despite not being a "collector" or even particularly organised, I never found it difficult to not ruin my game boxes. So I found it rather annoying when I'd be looking for a game and if they even had the boxes, most of them looked like they'd been sat on or given to the dog to play with.

Not a fan of cardboard cases (and yes, Jaguar, SNES, N64 and GBA i'm looking at you)-When i started buying used games for these, it was pretty much cart only or cart and instructions and if i was lucky enough to find a complete version, sender would often flatten box and pop it and cart etc in smallest jiffy bag they could find to save on postage.

DC cases:Mare, bought countless awful, but cheap DC games, just to replace cases on the great DC games.

PSP cases are fine (it's the UMD's themselves i find often have awful build quality).

Worst offender this gen:Sony with PS3 cases, build quality fine, but WTF are you thinking with the size? i use DVD racks for my games and these are too short to store properly, gah.

Urgh, UMDs - the only effective way of cleaning them is to take them apart.
The only way to take them apart is to snap them apart.
Once you snap them apart, you have to glue it back together.

I hated the NES cardboard boxes, they just get damaged so bloomin easily!
Favourite? Megadrive. Tough, stylish and hold the carts and manuals perfectly.

PC Big Boxes, strictly for nostalgia, and are much more attractuive than your typical DVD case.
Also, Master System boxes have an awesome, brutal simplicity.

I actually like the European Dreamcast cases, it seemed they were headed in the right direction, I just wish they weren't so flimsy! :x

As much as I love the SNES the boxes are a pain in the arse.

Mega Drive boxes on the other hand are great, god knows how many I've dropped and they have been fine.

Mega drive was great, the later boxes were even better because it didn't sound like the plastic was going to snap then I took a game out the box.

I found a few of them (with games of course) in near-mint condition at a local game store relatively recently, and I take one look and am like "Holy crap BOXES!!!!11", much to the extreme bewilderment of a friend that was with me at the time.

I think I bought *all* of them from that store that they had, lol. That was a really great haul. They were good games, too. Like Reactor, I hadnt played that one before, and it's really, really good.

Yeh, Reactor came in a nice strong cardboard box with a lid, like all ( that I'm aware of) Parker games for the 2600. Very hard to squash. My favourite 2600 packaging.

Dreamcast cases, plus if I ever drop a game box, it has to be a DC game, tis the law! Hinges were censored from day one.

Got to be the Nintendo stuff up 'til the Cube, surely? Cardboard is not a good idea. the PS1 cases were a bit fragile too, not a huge fan.

Neo Geo Pocket wins best award, for me. Superb little cases, them.

Might be alone in this, but I think the PS Vita cases look really, really daft. Have you seen the display, pre-order cases on the shop shelves? They're tiny!

^ Well, considering they come on flash cards I'd expect small cases...

Best and worst is the GBA, the little Japanese boxes were great but ours were the worst (everybody has already said why).

It's a bit specific but Psygnosis big boxes were great with interesting art sleeves over those shiny owl boxes, it just made it seem like a quality product even if it was a terrible game on an unreliable floppy in an oversized box.

The awful box that 'Rockford's Riot' on the Spectrum came in. I had one in almost new condition and just because of the shape of the things and it's flimsiness it's just battered now.
