Playstation Vita games discussion thread

Postby Morkin on Thu Feb 16, 2012 10:19 am

I thought it might be worthwhile having a separate thread for people who actually own a Vita where we can talk about what games we're playing, looking forward to etc. It seems to be working with regards to the 3DS, where things went a little pear shaped what with heated arguments & whatnot.

I have a Vita pre-ordered at Amazon & have also preordered Uncharted, Katamari, Lumines, Everybody's Golf & Ridge Racer.

Eurogamer's Everybody's Golf review...

Conservative, but still rich and engaging, Everybody's Golf will never stand centre stage in the Vita's launch line-up. But in truth, it's one of the strongest launch titles, offering taut fun and challenge in a rapid-fire, quick-load manner that's perfectly suited to the handheld. It may not offer a vision of the portable future that Sony's creative dreamers were hoping for, but as a video game, it works small wonders.

Really looking forward to this one. :D

I already have a Vita, (well I've actually got 2  ) with Uncharted, Wipeout, Modnation Racers, Everybody's Golf, Reality Fighters and Little Deviants.

Not played enough of it yet, but enjoying Wipeout, will play Uncharted tonight.

Really want Ninja Gaiden and Ridge Racer.

I'll be getting one next week. I'll be getting Uncharted, Wipeout and Ultimate MVC3 on it as well as a couple more maybe. Really looking forward to it as well (I always like a new console/handheld launch!). I'd be especially interested to see how UMVC3 works with the D Pad, I've heard that its much better than the PSP's was.

I'm close to caving in and getting Ninja Gaiden. I've already got it on the PS3 but I can't help be interested in having a portable version of it. It'll probably be a game that I pick up in March once I finish a couple of the others I'm getting.

Can I mention again that a few friends and I are producing a Wipeout 2048 soundtrack for players to download. It will be very good. Should be out next week.

This is the one game I really want at the moment. Unfortunately I don't think its a launch title over here (and is out in May). Either way, can't wait for it to be released.

I'm getting a Wi Fi Vita with Rayman Origins, Everybody's Golf & Ridge Racer on launch - can't wait :D

Will likely pick up Ninja Gaiden & Mortal Kombat during the 'launch window'

Quick question about the Vita. I though one of its big selling points was that you could stream games of your PS3 say if your missus wanted to watch TV so you could nip upstairs and use the Vita to play said PS game. Speaking to a friend who works in the games industry last night he says this isn't the case and that it requires serious hacking on the machine to do this.

So to the people with the Vita can you stream PS3 games?

Yep. You can even sync them with your existing PSN account that's used on the PS3.

You can set one up with the Vita - it's dead easy. I have friends who have a Vita PSN and a PS3 one, which kind of defeats the purpose of being able to link accounts!
