Yes. I can't find the damn thing via Google but I recall reading the transcript of a Shuhei Yoshida (President of SCE Worldwide Studios) interview very soon after PS Vita's launch where he revealed work was already underway on the console's first hardware revision.

Is there anything hardware-wise that needs fixing with the Vita? The screen and the controls are okay as they are aren't they?

In the aforementioned interview Yoshida essentially admitted the final PS Vita design now available to purchase was a case of 'that'll do' with the main achievement been to cram all that tech' in a device of that size. He further revealed the first hardware revision would address what he admitted were some of the more obvious 'issues'. The one I recall him mentioning was the placement of the analogue thumbsticks - he admitted they weren't in the most ergonomically suitable location with regard to one's thumb positioning.

The camera is definitely disappointing, does not take good pics and is terrible in anything less than good light. The screen itself though is terrific.

A bit strange that they admit they might have got the thumbsticks wrong in order to rush it out. The question is - to rush it out for what? If no-one's buying it then what was the rush? I don't understand these companies sometimes. Same goes for not putting dual sticks on the 3DS, IMO.

Didn't it come out close to the end of a financial quarter? Share holders/investors etc would have been pushing for it to be released for good returns.

I've just read on eurogamer that between April and June the PSP outsold the Vita more than two to one. I'm not sure if this includes pre-owned.

PlayStation Vita firmware update adds PSone compatibility

Sony's just-released v1.80 PlayStation Vita firmware update has finally added support for PSone games.

A huge list of titles are supported (see below) and will be made available to download from the EU PlayStation Store tomorrow, Sony has said.

Those who have already bought and installed the games on PlayStation 3 can transfer them over.

In North America, only a fraction of the games are listed for re-release this week by the US PlayStation blog - although Reddit has compiled a list of titles which can still be played via PS3 transfer.

What else do you get in v1.80? Well, the Vita's new Cross-Controller feature allows you to use it as a PlayStation 3 controller within compatible PS3 titles, such as LittleBigPlanet 2. The handheld's home screen and Videos/Music apps now offer button support, Music now supports playlists (you can export them from iTunes) and the web browser now includes handy rear-touch scrolling.

There's some extra video controls, improvements for Maps and the ability to retroactively add location data to near by using close-by Wi-Fi access points (even if you're not connected).

I'll probably grab a couple of Playstation games to throw on the Vita. I'm just a tad disappointed that they do not have the Megaman games available in Europe like they do in the USA as those would be instant purchases for me.

I'd kill to have those on my Vita, as you say they are perfect handheld fodder (and I'd probably never put it down if it had portable MM9&10!). Unlikely to happen as I guess it'd be Capcom that would have to engineer them to work on the Vita and not Sony, and seeing as they never bothered to even give BC and MM9 trophies the odds of Vita compatibilty is nill :(

Thing is the crossplay feature is allowing a great number of PS3 games to work so I doubt there'd be all that much effort for them to allow it. They won't though, swines.

I'm guessing the Vita isnt region free then. Me and my friend played Earth Defence Force 2017 to death on the 360! it was great for a little budget game.
If that was to get a release over here i'd be extremely tempted to pick up a Vita.

The system is region free. I've got EDF Vita preordered as I'm unsure of what the odds of it actually getting a English release is.

Add to those the Scott Pilgrim v the World game, I always felt that was a perfect handheld title

The day I can hack a Vita and use it to play my PSP ISO's is the day I buy one (or can this already be done?). I don't illegally download, I just like playing off a memory card.

It's going to happen. The hackers have made a bit of head way already but like all things just takes time :)
