I'd open it and play it through... then sell it in a couple of years - you'll still get a good price! It's certainly not a brilliant game, but it's different enough to experience once.

I visit both GAME and Gamestation regularly, and both are really poorly stocked, prices have rocketed (in some cases more than doubled) and they had no customers. Example... Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games - £37.99 unsealed 'new' and £35.99 used. Grainger Games are selling it new for £24.99 next door and HMV have sealed copies for just £19.98 down the road! The same used stock has gone up... e.g all £7.99 games are now £12.99 regardless of title or condition! I can't imagine they'll last into next year unless they start being competitive!

I can only hope that this is a temporary blip as the new owners stretch their legs and that the company will improve in future, because if they keep doing things the way they are they'll be knackered again inside a year. Most of the staff at my local GS are pretty good, friendly without being overfriendly, and I'd hate to see them lose their jobs just because the suits don't have a clue what they're doing.

Just played the Binary Domain demo and loved it!
Have some credit for Game as checked prices and HMV, AMazon, Play, Ebay & Zavvi all have it for arounr £17.
Spoke to Game, £39.99.
They are so gonna go back into administration before the years out!

my local branch refused to take pes and fifa 10, they may getting some sense

but from a £6 outlay at cash converters, i got £12 instore credit and i traded in my pes 12 for £23 credit, so i got myself some psn vouchers with it all :)

on the hotukdeals site, some people are buying like £70 worth of cheap ds games etc and trading them for like £180-200 it looks like

not too shabby!

I'm not knocking anybody, but it's a shame they're doing that in a way, all the decent cheap games will soon end up only available at Game for overinflated 'used' prices.

Maybe that's Game's ultimate aim. There's got to be a method in their madness at any rate.

People on HUKD ALWAYS take things to far, ie if someone finds a pricing error on a site rather than order 1 or 2 items they will all go crazy and start order 10,20,30,40,50 items

Killbot said he traded in some battered footy games (from this gen) for £23 under the current deal, take away the deal and that's only 50p each. If they can sell those games for a fiver then they'll make £7 profit.

Outside of the offer, even if they sell those games for £1 that's 100% profit on their normal trade-in value. So did Game lower their trade-in prices during this recent trade-in offer? Or is 50p all you're gonna get for something they'll sell for about £5?

The trade-in prices are a complete p1ss-take and always have been - their offers are amazingly low on anything but the most recent games. I once took a mint copy of FFVI for PSone into GS and was offered a quid, even though they would have charged £20+ for it. In fairness, the guy behind the counter admitted as much and advised me to sell privately instead.

I've nearly posted my musings on Game's current strategy several times, but every time I didn't bother because I just can't work it out.

The best I could come up with was maybe Game just need to be able to demonstrate some degree of activity and turnover (as opposed to profit). To show lenders and publishers, "hey, look at all the business we're doing, have faith in us."

The current trade-in offer does seem generous, especially if they haven't lowered their normal trade-in prices, but they are primarily giving you credit, which you can only use in their store on their comparatively overpriced stock.

This way they are giving people the means to by things from them and them only. It obviously would't work long term but as I say it might just be a short term thing just to get people back in the door, as well as get stock on the shelves and begin to restore confidence with suppliers etc.

Just went on the GS website to see if they have any copies of Xenoblade Chronicles in stock (they don't). But comfortingly it told me not to worry because they have plenty of copies of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here for £9!

Would go along with these thoughts, re-build some 'loyalty' of sorts.

Well I've certainly been going in a lot more recently with the sale and trade-in offer but unless they drastically lower the prices of their pre-owned stuff it won't be much longer until I stop going in again. Again, the first Professor Layton game for £19.99

The main problem that I have at the moment is trying to spend this credit as all the games that people are trading in are all the cheap crap and not actually anything decent.
