^ Even the classic top-down GTAs? It can get samey after a while, but it never gets old for me.

RE: old systems, I hobestly prefer emulation for the most part, as I don't have the patience to try to keep systems and games well maintained. From a nostalgic point of view though, of course there's no comparison; there's something satisfyingly chunky and solid about the good old Atari 2600 in particular. :)

The greatest thing about old games that new games can't really emulate is compition...

Someone's clearly never heard of star craft, call of duty, all of MLG or any of the other immensely popular competitive games popular right this minute.

My stance is and will always be old games are great, and old systems blow. I want everything old on a new platform that isn't riddled with limitations and problems that give me more freedom over my player experience. Why would I want to play radiant silver gun on the saturn when I have a better version of the same game on the 360? with better control even, my 360 TE stick puts to shame anything that I could reasonably obtain for the saturn. If every great saturn game could be had on the 360 I would buy them in a heart beat so I never have to deal with that thing again.

As Jagfest said, gotta disagree there.

I'll take the Saturn over the 360 any day; the only reason I dont actually do so very often is I only have two saturn games  Ahh, gotta get more of those, but.... old system, AND it's a JP unit, because..... well, it made perfect sense at the time. Wait, no, I have three, but the third one doesnt count.

Still, the old Saturn never acts up, it never makes me bloody WAIT for stupid patches I dont actually want, and I dont have to put up with the worlds most goddamn ANNOYING interface. Or ads. There is not ONE ad on the whole thing. Whereas I cant turn on the bloody 360 without it throwing dumb ads for things I WILL NEVER EVER EVER BUY (due to them waving ads at me and getting on my nerves).

....that, and the controller is bloody superior to EVERYTHING. I dont use sticks most of the time because they slow me down..... but normally I use them for shmups. .....except in the case of the Saturn controller, which is just BETTER. I dont like Sega, but that controller and console are the one thing they did RIGHT.

And the 360's main controller gets absolutely everything WRONG.

Yeah, Saturn for me, thanks..... when I can, anyway.

Agreed, Vanquish is brilliant, it's just I never saw the appeal in Call of Duty, Battlefront and all the other Medal of Honour type games just don't interest me, sme with the GTA games..

Hint, those are FIRST-person shooters you mean there :P

I agree with you though. And I like your logic.

Sounds like something I often say. I'll say something like, "I have decided that this is so. Therefore it is."

I never knew what Genre Call of Duty Games and its ilk where classed as.. I never liked these overly realistic games though COD's fans argue there very Fantastical and not realistic, Doom and Bioshock are the only two I like..

Vanquish reminds me of PN03 a more arcady kind of game, really hard to start with but can be finished quickly when you learn how to play it..

I do agree Saturn 'Prikura Daisakusen' would last me forever Raident Silvergun is too hard, thought the replays on Shmumps somebody 1 cc'ing it with just the sword makes it look easy.. Is it supposed to be one of the easier Treasure games?

Vague question is it Battle Garagga where have to die to keep the rank down.. I saw the Gamest videos of these but on Shmumps they where they could finish it on 1 life..

Yes, and any of Raizing's other games for the most part. The shmups where suiciding at the start is a "strategy". Sigh.

As for Radiant Thingy, I have no idea if it's one of the easier games of theirs.... dont really bother with Treasure's shmups, they usually just annoy me.

As a rule though I dont think most of their games are as hard as thought to be.

On Cave's Ibara Super Play DVD's they suicide but get lives back, it almost seems like a memory test of where to die.. The only Shmump I can finish are Soldier Blade, Magical Chase and Dead Moon on the PC Engine, but I was told these don't count as there easy.. I can finish Death Smiles 2 on arrange and thats my limit, I'd like to be good on them doubt it will ever happen:(

Ibara was designed by the same guy, Yagawa, that did alot of Raizing's stuff, is why it happens in that game. It even has the same unnecessary explosions and stage/pattern design, but lacks the little needle bullets. Doesnt play like a usual Cave title whatsoever.

Pink Sweets and Muchi Muchi Pork! were also designed by him.
