I was never into PS2 at first but I have become a PS2 censored lately - avoiding most common commercial non interest and buying damn near anything else.
That said my ps2 is packed away while my GC takes its rightful space under my TV.

I am a hoarder and I have a terrible habit of buying all i can while i can. While its nice to be able to list my ps2 stuff it has made me realise I buy too much without much of a selection process.

I am looking forward to PSP collection going online , but then again thats just because my collection grew rapidly recently thanks to Game.

Is there a Game collectors Anonymous? I have made my first step - acknowledging the problem.

To be fair I did pick a load of PS2 games up in the 4 for £10 in the last few years. Overall I did uncover some gems too so perhaps it was worth it but I have sold off well over 60 of those games now to tidy my collection up.

This time around, I picked up around 5 games from the Game sale. I didn't want to buy stuff for the hell of it as I found it was generally as waste of time and my collection felt needlessly swollen.

I was having a joke with a personal friend, you don't even know me. I can joke about myself all I like that is my perogative, when you do it its an insult. I suggest you reconsider the last part of your sig.

Sensitive much. That post was so full of whine.

I dont care if you have arthritis, it just reinforces my view that you have a hidden agenda when disliking modern games in the fact that rather than actually dislike the actual games, you dislike them because of reasons that render them unplayable to you.

And yes, If you joke about something like that on an open public forum, you are sort of opening yourself up a bit. Dont like it, dont keep bringing it up.

Thankyou for proving my point.

Did not take you long.

Taking the rise out of someone's physical disability is seriously out of order. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Not sure if you are serious.

Anyway, he mentioned his inability to get to grips with analogue sticks many times, I made a simple joke about it. The arthritis thing was revealed after the joke. So it was not making fun of it at all. If I had done it with the knowledge of his athritis, then you might have had a point.

@shiftytigger:ref:PS2-Won mine, a launch model, £300, was'nt that impressed by it (owner of PS1+DC at time), liked Extermination, Ring Of Red, Z.O.E, hated MGS 2, was'nt till SH2 and GTA3 hit that i really saw potential of hardware.Anywho, soon sold it after those last 2, bought an Xbox....

Skip forward to PS3 launch, friend gave me his PS2+60 games!-so going through them, saw system had really 'grown up', things like God Of War 2, bloody impressive indeed, started on the slippery slope of:

Onto Amazon, buying hordes of cheap PS2 games i'd missed out on.Got to point postie said i was reciving more post than anyone else in the Village, looked at huge unplayed pile and..thought this is getting beyond a joke.Packed PS2 away.

Gave away good % of games in my PS2 collection, never looked back, but for a time, i was buying just for the sake of it.Not good...

Well considering it is my thread, and the argument about what counts as retro is actually relevant to the topic about whether XBLA is a medium that is of interest to retro gamers. As in whether the games on there can be classed as retro.

Just because it's your thread it dosn't give you the right to insult people, dismiss their PERSONAL opinions or argue about something that was clearly a joke.

This thread is totally subjective, everyone has their own opinions and a forum is a place to discuss them. There is no right or wrong answer, despite what you may think.

You are totally right, I did do all those things and probably should not have. Yet you did the same.

Actually Retro has a literal meaning and its clearly defined what retro is. your personal opinion is not what retro is, its what you think retro should be. Which happens to go against the actual definition of retro.
