Hmm... i'll reserve judgement until out and see what it does, what I have seen so far hasn't inspired me though.

This was basically just a press release in video form to get a lot of details out and explain things a bit. Hopefully with that out of the way now the E3 show will focus more on games, which is the most important thing. Good move by Nintnedo to get the less exciting stuff out of the way and lay some foundation info before their main presentation.

I don't care about the social interactivity, but so long as the Miiverse stuff doesn't get in the way of the games and I can choose to take it or leave it, then let them have at it.

It's just a lot of extras needed to fatten out the concept of the social interaction. I doubt any of it will be heavily incorperated into games and I am sure it will be possible to fully disable those help bubbles and all that.

I hope so. I just don't want my gameplay to be interupted if I don't want it too, if I can turn things like that off then great. It's annoying enough to get achivevement alerts, it really takes me out of the game.

I'm sure the Miiverse concept is going to get slaughtered by a lot of people, but unless it is completely intrusive then I don't think it's a reason to write the console of as a fail, (especially at this early stage). As you say it's an extra, gameplay is what matters, it would be like refusing to buy a 3DS because it isn't a great camera.

Didnt seem too bad. Granted, my laptop is in the same room as my game stuff, but I guess the text and video stuff would come in handy in some way for some folk.

Looks alright, though I wonder how the ABXY buttons and right stick will feel being reverse of a 360 controller....

Lets be honest here.
Few shooters and that uses the buttons for anything other than weapon/thing select.

for them to say "For normal games" means that we dont need that bloody controller.

Still not arsed about the bloody thing

Still uninspired by all this. Even more so, in fact, with the Miiverse nonsense. Part of the reason I like my Wii so much is it's just about games. Me vs the game. This just seems to pander to the modern mentality that views life through the prism of what they can tweet about something and what pictures they can put on Facebook/videos on Youtube.

That's the thing... Nintendo aren't pandering to your wants, they're pandering to the kids wants.. I think a lot of 30 somethings find that hard to see, we had our time with the NES, SNES & GameBoy... all this social stuff isn't for you... it's for our kids..

Yeah that's fair enough, if it has games I want, I'll buy it. It just won't be the social stuff that sells it to me.

I thought it was really awesome how you can see what your friends are playing and do video chat. While I am still not 100% sold on the controller, it has improved, and the Wii U Pro controller looks great! Plus, since the Wii U isn't compatible with Gamecube controllers, I wonder if games like Brawl can be played on the Pro controller.

Pro Controller, looks nice... although interestingly enough, buttons and stick on the right reversed in position from other controllers (which is how it is on the Wii U pad). And the zombie skit... cheesy, as expected, but it gets the messages across.

Its official. Its a stupid crappy gimmicky pile o crap.

The WiiU seems like less of a games console and more of a waste of space now

I'm liking the Wii U Pad more and more. People have said it feels like the Wii's Classic Controller Pro, just longer, and actually not much heavier.

Sure it's gimmicky, but everything new is at first. And compared to the 360 and PS3 controllers it only adds features, you're not losing anything the way you lost an analogue stick with the Wiimote and Nunchuck.
