Wha are your most prized gaming items

Postby Montytom on Sun May 27, 2012 11:18 pm

Hi guys thoughtg id put this up,It may have been done before but ill see how it goes.
Basically i was going through all my games and games related items and i had a thought, What items mean the most to me and even if i had to get rid of everything else what would i keep.
My list is as follows:-

My Goldeneye edition N64- I had been given one for christmas one year and i stupidly sold it a few years ago but now im glad to have a copy of it back again.

My boxed mint sega megadrive 2 with all the inserts, posters etc- I had one as a kid and then it got lost in the house move but when i was 14 i had a paper round and my dad took me to pick one up and i havnt been without a megadrive since.

All my megadrive games will stay with me for aslong as i live.

Sonic adventure on the dreamcast is another game ill never let go of.

What are your guys items that you would never let go of.
To be honest none of my stuff is worth any money but to me they are priceless and i would never let them go.

My Megaman collection as a whole but more specifically:

Image
The 5 PAL Megaman games. Not the best versions of the games available but these are the ones that hold the most sentimental value to me.

Image
My Euro Gameboy releases. Pretty tough to track down on their own, not to mention finding the later releases complete with decent packaging. I've always been a fan of how well Megaman was ported to the GB.

Image
My mint in box Japanese PC Rockman X4. Out of all the PC versions this was by far the hardest to aquire so its my most prized PC Megaman game.

Image
Megaman 7 art cells which were used for the Megaman 7 manual.

Also my Resident Evil 5th Annivery Limited Edition set:

I'm not normally one for limited edition stuff but I really like the way this one was done.

The various Game & Watches I've managed to pick up so far, especially:
Image
SMB, Mario's Cement Factory and DK Jr - all 3 are my joint favourite handhelds and are still really addictive.

Lastly, not that rare but all the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku games released so far. Probably my favourite new game series that Sega has made for a long time.

My beatmania IIDX stuff and my debug PS2 probably. I could resell, but the IIDX series is the only thing keeping me with my PS2.
Dreamcast (HKT-3030), PlayStation (SCPH-5552), PlayStation 2 (SCPH-39003), Sega Saturn (MK-80200-50), PC Engine Core Grafx II, AV Famicom, Neo Geo AES

In terms of monetary value , I'd say my new/sealed megaman 1 and 2 for the NES

In terms of sentimental value, It would always be my dreamcast collection

I don't think I have anything that's worth any amount of money. Sadly, I kept very few things from when I was a kid.

It sounds odd, but my most prized gaming item is a set of Tekken postcards I got for free from my favourite video game store in SA. I used to spend a lot of time (and money) there and the owner just handed me them as a gift when I bought Tekken 3 :D You don't get that kind of personal service anymore these days...

I don't have anything particularly rare so it's all easily re-gainable if needs be but I wouldn't let go of my PS3 (because I play it a lot) and the vast majority of my games. I also would not dump my megadrive because that *WAS* my childhod (along with my Gameboy)

My original Atari VCS - which still works perfectly and my
original 48K Spectrum which, again, is in perfect working order.

Nothing rare or expensive but both have a high nostalgia value.
I suppose the good thing about them not being valuable is that
I'd never need to sell them.

I've already sold a lot of my more expensive games, they had high value
but no personal connection with me.

I have lots of things that are valuable but I know that I could never part with my Lynx or Jaguar collections as both machines hold a special place in my heart and they would also be very hard to replace again

Sadly, I've found myself having to sell some of my treasured gaming items over the years, including my boxed and mint Zelda Game & Watch, but I've kept hold of all my games from childhood (mostly because they're worthless). I still have my Game Boy Camera, which has some photos on from a LONG time ago, which of course I'd never sell.

I'm also very happy with my Famicom Game Boy Micro, my Final Fantasy Wonderswan boxset, and my Pokemon Mini + games, all of which I managed to buy before prices skyrocketed in recent years for no apparent reason.

I don't have anything of massive value - although I bought a number of SNES games before prices started shooting up, for some stupid unfathomable reason I didn't bother buying the ones with boxes and instructions. My most valuable game would probably be the limited edition Castlevania SOTN on PS1
