Trolling

I am getting sick to the back teeth of certain individuals hammering their opinions onto other people and totally derailing threads for seemingly the sheer fun of it. We are losing valuable members of the community because certain individuals (who I won't name because I'm nice like that) seem incapable of understanding that other individuals have different viewpoints and likes to their own.

In future anyone who is seen as trolling will immediately be given a week ban ban for their first strike, a three week ban for their second and a permanent ban if they continue to upset other members. This is relevant to all members, new and old and also staff members and freelancers.

The Retro Gamer forum used to be a really nice place to hang out, but now it appears to be nothing more than a playground for certain bullies to push others around, and I've been fair too easy on them. You have all been warned...

You're right it's not new, but when the same old people are basically ruining the place for others then something has to be done about it.

Will there be any warning prior to this that there is a danger this will happen? (e.g. PM) Since I'm not sure that at least some of these people are aware how trolly they are.

Yes they will be given a heads up (some already have in fact) before they are punished.

Jolly good. Can we just be 100% certain that people reporting a troll have got a genuine troll on their hands. Some people are being called trolls just because they argue a point.
Id say I know of 3 trolls that I will be keeping a sharp eye on...

i've never been trolled at least if i have i've been oblivious to it and i hope no one feels i've trolled them,i can be very sarcastic and that could be misunderstood as nastiness in a post.hopefully if someone did feel that they would post or pm me to give me a chance to apologise first but after that fair enough.

Well said, I was getting sick of reading the same people bitching at each other in every thread I took any interest in.
