I've thought about it a few times, but the problem is that a mate gave me most of the stuff I own now, and it's stuff we both used to play with when we were teenagers and in our twenties. So that makes it harder to get rid of.

Omg my dad bought one of those watches (or one very like it) duty free on a plane to our compulsory holiday in Spain back in the day. Think he paid something stupid amount for it. 10 yrs later u got them free with a tank of petrol..... Will ask him how much he paid when I see him, remember it was the first digital watch I ever saw....

It's pretty easy to set up a PC (preferably a low-power fanless one) with a bunch of emulators and plug it into your TV. You can then play all your retro favourites with a wireless keyboard/mouse & controller from the sofa. Set the same machine up to work as a player for AV files, optical media and streaming video from websites and you might even be able to justify it to your other half. You can then set-up a laptop or netbook with all the emulators as well so you can still play the games when someone else is using the TV. :)

At the end of the day it's not quite the same as having all the original hardware and shelves full of game boxes, but it's a lot more suitable for a harmonious married life.

I just got rid of everything, bar my 360, which is going whenever I can be bothered to list it on eBay.

That said, I plan to buy a PC Engine Core Grafx II shortly after with a copy of Soldier Blade..

With the possibility of going down the PC Media Centre route...

Would a Wavebird work with one of these bad boys?

Yes. Wavebird is no different from a regular controller as far as the Cube/adapter is concerned, there's still a plug to plug in.

I think I may have asked you before possibly.... apologies if I have, but why did you sell your stuff for? Did you have a lot? What was it that made you decide to sell up?

Everything really. I'm young and my financial situation is awful and I'm moving out so I needed to get rid to clear my head. I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff that isn't games too.

I wouldn't say I had that much, at the worst point I had a cab, maybe 40 consoles and around 200 games..

But having so much felt a bit pointless to me I guess.

Gonna probably just own one console at a time now, buying/reselling is kinda fun too..

It really is. Its fun to buy something off an online auction, play for a while for fun then sell it on, get your money back and sometimes even make a few quid on top.

I can see your points above - I could flog my Neo Geo and get my long-wanted PC Engine ordered. However, I know I'd only regret it down the line some time, personally. I'm going to carry on as I am, buying maybe a game or two a month - a lot different to what I used to be like.

You know, I'm often tempted to stop buying anything for a year, and just play what I have! Right now though, its one new release a month, and a cheapy every now and again :)
