More PR bullshit from Sony....all new graphics cards released then will support it...no tvs outside Japan will be able to view it, and I doubt many games will support the extra processing power needed, this gen was a bridge gap games now still struggle at 1080p...

You'd need a new TV. 4K is 3840x2400 as I recall, or 2160 depending on aspect ratio. You could always buy an IBM T221 from 2001 though.

You've got to feel that, given the current state of the games industry and Sony in particular, that they would be incapable of absorbing the cost of another expensive console launch. The problem there is that Nintendo are about to leapfrog them, technology-wise, and I'm sure Microsoft aren't too far behind with their new console plans.
