Dead Or Alive Dimensions.

Its pretty decent but ive never been very attached to the DOA series. I dont find the characters or stories interesting enough. Im enjoying what ive played of this so far but i reckon i might end up trading this in when im done.

Got started on Rift a day or so ago (MMO), pretty nice so far... after playing alot of games like City of Heroes or Realm of the Mad God, it's kinda nice to have a really traditional MMO to play. The game is just oozing with polish, you can tell the devs really put alot of effort into it.

Speaking of Realm of the Mad God, more of that tonight. Holy crap that game just gets better the more I play it. Dealing with the high-end bosses gets nutty fast. Dealing with multiple gods at once while in a party of like 30 people is absolute chaos.

Love the heck outta it.

Had a few goes on Blue Wish Resurrection, by the same guys that made Eden's Aegis which I love. It's great! Really solid shmup, shares the same chaining mechanic that I like about Eden.

Looking at Pink Sweets, I get the feeling that I'll have to put some real time into it to get anywhere. It all feels a bit overwhelming right now, retreated back to MMP!

Pink Sweets can get VERY difficult.

Alot of players will do things like suicide at certain times or other screwball tricks to get the rank to go down. Or stop it from going up, one of the two.

It's a Yagawa shmup, so.... yeah, the usual things from his other games apply to this one.

There's also a particularly unusual mechanic that has something to do with tapping the shot button really fast to set some number or other.... it's really freaking wierd. You only have to do it like once and then the mystery number just stays that way, and.... I dont know. I dont get it. I think it's important for scoring somehow? I cant do it, it makes my arm hurt.

Or is that in Arrange mode? Oh, I dont remember.

^tapping the fire button really fast increases the rate of fire you'll get when you just hold it down.

Anyway I've been playing a fair bit of BlazBlue CS lately. I'm not very good but I'm happy to flail about while I wait for the shmup league to resume. Not sure whether I'll pick up Extend or not. I never got any of the DLC characters so they'd all be new to me, but given that Guilty Gear is coming to XBLA and from what I've heard it's better than BB I might just switch to that.

After finally completing all the DLC for Mass Effect 2 I've decided to go all the way back and have a quick second original Mass Effect playthrough. It's very strange going back, I love the really unique graphical style which was ditched in 2 and the amount of popup and graphical glitches are just plain impressive in their evilness :D There's a certain charm about some of the characters that didn't make it to the sequel, glad to see that Ashley will be recalled to the roster as a full character in the ME3. Saren has to be one of my favourite villans from any game series, I'd forgotten how great he is.

Super Aleste (SNES). First time I've played it on real hardware for well over a decade. I completed it on the default settings.

I had a bad feeling when I saw the Midas logo on it.
My instict was gright. This game is shite.
Its a really really really dull hack and slash.

That was almost a limerick. Let's just tidy it up.

I bought a game made by Midas
Whose logo leaves one undesirous
My instinct was right
This game is shite
I’d give it a score of D minus.

^^ haha very good noobish. I'll have a go:-

I bought a game called realm of the dead
despite what my instincts had said.
it looked crap and played bad
and I became very sad
so I now approach Midas with dread.

.....that's it, that's what it does?

.....well that's kinda really damn stupid. I'll just ignore that function, I think.

As for Guilty Gear, well, Blazblue is pretty darn good, but yes, GG is better, though I'll warn you now, it has a MUCH higher/nastier learning curve. It uses alot of the same mechanics as BB, but things like cancelling with meter are alot more important.

I've played it absolutely to freaking death.
