Throughout the entire game my thief always had half the attack power of the warrior up until he became ninja. Again, not sure what changes are made in other versions. Theres so many versions of FF1 and they all seem to differ in very slight ways.

My Thief:
Bender - lvl 39
HP: 531
Attack: 32
Accuracy: 255
Defence: 42
Evasion: 119
Weapon: Wyrmkiller
Shield: Buckler
Helmet: Black Cowl
Armour: Ruby Armlet
Gloves: Protect Ring

My Warrior:
Fry - lvl 39
HP: 689
Attack: 38
Accuracy: 168
Defence: 60
Evasion: 89
Weapon: Mythril Sword
Shield: Ice Shield
Helmet: Mythril Helm
Armour: Ice Armour
Gloves: Protect Ring

Looking at it, I guess my thief's accuracy is what makes the difference.

Strange, even with the Wyrmkiller i would have thought your Warrior would be doing more damage. Unless you only happen to be fighting dragon type enemies which is unlikely!
My Warriors accuracy was always much higher than the Thiefs aswell. Maybe the Iphone version tweaks the Thief to be a more viable character because there is very little reason to have one on the PS1 version.

They are at least useful in the original NES game.

Hmm, and I'm betting they fixed all/most of the bugs for all of these remakes.... the original NES game was a terrible buggy mess. Not even ONE of the weapons that was supposed to deal extra damage VS a certain enemy type worked, various spells did nothing, the Dark status did nothing, some other spells actually worked BACKWARDS, character stats had some funky qualities to them, some pieces of armor didnt do anything.... and so on and so on. A ton of bugs.

Have had a couple of goes on Great Fairy Wars. Have to say that given this game was done by one guy, I'm supremely impressed by the aesthetics; lovely visuals and music, love the way there are little cutscenes in each stage. :o

Gameplay-wise, I do feel it's something of a mixed bag. The freezing mechanic is quite an interesting scoring system, but the actual stage layouts...it seems as if each stage is made up of very clearly delineated sections, and the trick is to remember the best tactic for each one. The bullet patterns themselves seem to be more concerned with looking pretty than being overly challenging. But some of them do look properly lovely, especially when the bosses let fly. :o

Having said that, I haven't touched Lunatic Mode yet...

First experience of a proper Touhou game was a good one overall, then. It'll keep me busy for a while, for when Sonic Wings 2 (for the shmup league) gets too much.

Also, mucho SCV grindage! Really getting to grips with Pyhrra now; not surprising really, given the number of times I've grinded with her*!

The way the bullet patterns try to be shiny rather than interesting is exactly one of the reasons I steer clear of that series. And I swear, for most of the games, the actual STAGES are like, 5 seconds long and very badly designed, and then you get a boss that takes 50 rather boring years to kill.

I've never understood the appeal of the series at all. To me, it makes Arrow Flash look incredibly exciting.

As for what I'm playing, there was some Sonic Wings until my arm started to hurt too much. Then there was Minecraft for awhile, and then everything suddenly hurt for no apparant reason (again) so I laid on the bed and played more Gailardia on the iPad. Really enjoying that one quite alot.... It's very well done, and very challenging.... I dont see why more RPGs cant be as tough as this one is. The combat actually seems like COMBAT, as opposed to many JRPGs (particularly Square's) where it's more like Goomba stomping. No, in this, enemies pose a THREAT and can actually defeat you. I like that fact. It's been awhile since I've played one where that was the case. Loving every minute of it.

Spent some time on the iPad today with Age of Zombies, Tekken Bowl, Bubble Bobble & Zombie Panic in Wonderland all getting a look in. Fun stuff!

About to start Mass Effect 2 for the first time, not holding my breath

Typing of the Dead. Played the PC version (demo, years ago) and the Dreamcast version (at Rewind) before, always loved it, never played it at home.

After playing it till it got light this morning, I can say it's without a doubt up there in my favourite 3 or 4 games ever. Absolutely love it. I'm not as good as I should be (seeing as I can touch type at a very high wpm rate), but it's brilliant. Brilliant!

Silent Hill Homecoming evil but the amount of back tracking is annoyingly.. The other thing I can't understand is the idiots on Gamefaqs saying in one breath your character is too overpowered and makes the Combat to easy, and in the next breath - 'Scarlets' impossible to beat so the game must be broken!!!

Does this make me a Gamesplayer of God like Perportions as I actually beat her, she's difficult but not impossible!!! The other thing is even standard enemies can kill you in 3 hits on Normal, and you have to hit them a dozen times with the knife.. NOt to mention it limits you to 8 shotgun shells and 18 bullets forcing you not to use the guns!!!

Is that for the entire game? You never get any extra ammo at all?

I've never played SH: Homecoming, but I don't like that sound of that. :?

Played some Digital Devil Saga today after a very long break from it. Its the first game I've played in the Shin Megami series. It does seem very full-on with its progression and appears to require a lot of time to level your characters skills. Just got to a maze like area which took forever to get through. I like the unusual anime like style of the visuals even if it all seems a little grey.

I'm sure I'll probably go on to something else sson though.... all those 'Tales' games to play and Xenoblade/The Last Story.

Me and my girlfriend are expecting another baby in the next few weeks so I probably wont get much game time in anyway!
