Criminal Girls arrived, and it's actually pretty decent. It's a shame the fanservice is so in your face, but if you're not offended by all that I deffo recommend it.

More Great Fairy Wars while I wait for my replacement dongle to arrive. Pretty!

Mass Effect 3. It hasn't particularly grabbed me yet.

I've been playing Xbox games recently. Stranger's Wrath and FarCry Instincts Evo mostly.

I nearly ended this 'quest' in China. 57 laps or whatever done, up into 4th in my Williams, gearbox breaks. Possibly the most frustating moment of gaming I've ever experienced!

lol, screw that. I use to play F1 World Grand Prix on N64 with the main race set to 8 laps, plus pratice and qualifying. Long enough to include weather and pit-stops but not so long as to be a pain.

I remember doing the marathon races in Gran Turismo 1 and 2. I think the longest was 2 hours.

Shadows Of The Damned and Splatterhouse on the 360....

In the first few seconds of starting Splatterhouse, I thought "Oh No..." as the game just seemed to be loads of combos and it went all black and white and was practically impossible to tell what was going on....but it seems that I was a bit hasty, and once it started up proper it got a lot better. Only done the first couple of levels, but my favourite bit so far was when the screen switched to a 2D viewpoint and I had to dodge pendulums and spikes whilst fighting baddies with a 2x4....proper Splatterhouse stuff, and I reckon they could have quite easily have made the whole game like this! A proper 2D reboot! Still, it looks like I'll have a lot of fun with this one......

Shadows Of The Damned is just plain groovy though! Feeding strawberries to doors, shooting goat's heads for light sources, drinking Tequila for health, decapitating demons...I've only just started, but already this is one of my new favourite games! It'll have to do something pretty damned awful for me stop liking it...hopefully there'll be no shockingly difficult bosses or annoying jumping bits to deal with.....

No difficulty spikes, no horrible protection missions, just good solid fun :) only downside is that SOTD is a little bit short.

Splatterhouse is also a very solid game, it's the only game that has collectibles I actually WANTED to collect. For erm, rather obvious reasons

Fist of the north star: kens rage for the 360. Standard dynasty warriors stuff, notably that complicated when it comes to gameplay - just beat the crap out of anyone that gets in your way. The gameplay feels slower compared to other warriors titles but after a few levels I get used to that. The game seems to get better the more you level up your character as the more powerful combos and super moves can decimate groups of enemies in spectacular fashion

I like the Warriors series and was really looking forward to this, but after watching the anime i didnt think the game was violent enough. everything just seems to just "pink mist" instead of heads exploding, brains all over the place etc.... perhaps it was just the demo that was a little tame?

Toe fair the demo isn't a great representation of the game, I think it's much better than the demo. Violence wise it's so-so. Enemies blow up in bloody explosions when killed its combos ad depending which super moves you use they seem to die in different ways - one of which seems to cause groups of enemies heads to swell up and explode
I don't think it's close to the level of gore from the anime or manga but it's still a decent warriors title in my opinion.

The opening 30 mins of Yakuza Dead Souls, before I was dragged off to work this evening

It's really exciting seeing all of the characters and locations again, I absolutely loved Yakuza 4 so getting back into the series is an absolute joy. The opening cinematics were genuinely creepy, it's so weird seeing Kamurocho overrun by a zombie plague.

The control issues popped up the second the characters became playable, they're nothing short of retarded :| like whoever designed them had been given a very vague description of how shooters work by someone who'd been drunk at the time. That said, I'll press on regardless as I'm DESPERATE to see the story through. Just a shame, if the controls had been more manageable I reckon this game would have got a lot more attention

^Oooh, yes. Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood, isn't it. ;)

Decided to spend £10.99 on 'Playstation Plus' 'cos Silent Hill, Shank 2 and NFS Shift 2 are currently freebies. Saw something called Ninjamurai in the Minis section for £1.74, was desperately hoping it was gonna be great but it's a bit off, playable but more wonky than I was expecting, truly hoped it would be a cool little Shinobi clone but it plays more like a floaty cross between The Legend Of Kage and Hagane, with poor animation and sprite design. Not bad, though, I reckon it'll be fairly fun once I get used to how rough it is.
