I thought Most Wanted on PSP was excellent and far better than the big console version.

It's very easy and I'm blasting through it (already cleared the first three worlds 100%) but it's so enjoyable to play. Graphically it's nice to look at and the 3D effect is really good. Jumping off some of the massive heights for example is quite exhilerating with the jump distance combined with 3D. So yes, very pleased with this. I hadn't used my 3DS since Starfox 64 3D so it was nice to play something new on it at last.

I've said it many, many times, but the 3DS is a phenomenal system. I bought one at launch last year, played the crap out of it for a couple of weeks, and then put it to one side for a good six months! Ports aside, it didn't have much to play. But after Christmas I dived into it and seriosly haven't looked back since, picking up the pre-Christmas releases. I haven't enjoyed Nintendo gaming as much in years.

Make sure you pick up Kid Icarus too if you haven't already done so. I have played it for over seventy hours, and will no doubt put a lot more time into it again on the 3DS XL. The online is great fun and the weapons collecting is highly addictive. Silly amount of content on one game card. In this era of DLC, developers are rarely as generous with their content.

The rest of this year is looking equally as good - Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario and the new Castlevania will blow gamers away if they are up to the standard of the above. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is going to be top notch as well in my view, thanks to the coin-collecting mechanic. Playing the score attack mode will be highly addictive I'd say, as will the ultimate goal of getting a million coins.

I'm put off Kid Icarus by all that AR card stuff. That kind of game content isn't my cup of tea to be honest. Is it perfectly playable and completable without messing with the cards?

Really looking forward to Paper Mario though as I've loved every previous game in the series so a sequel is always a day one purchase for me.

Played some more of my second Resident Evil 5 playthrough last night and cleared the oil fields again. Soooo much easier to take down the three chainsaw men on those levels when armed with a fully upgraded shotgun and magnum 8) . Also had a bit more time with Tekken 6, just having a few bashes at Survival with my two mains (Kazuya and Nina). Really itching for Tag 2 now...I need it

The Cards have no relation to the game content as far as i know. You just happen to be able to view them with the AR feature. They dont unlock anything or serve any purpose in game :P

I thought you unlocked weapons with them or something :?: . Hmm...might pick the game up at some point but it's not high on the 'want' list at the moment.

I'm still working my way through the first Yakuza game for the PS2. Excellent fun and its much better now I have more fighting abilities at my disposal (though I still miss all the heat moves from later games). Even though its the smallest Yakuza game content wise I've already put 17 hours into it and will probably take me another 5-6 to clear up the last of the missions/side stuff. Just wish Haruka wouldn't keep getting kidnapped...

Yeah the cards have absolutely nothing to do with the game. You can use the game to look at characters pop out of them in 3D through the system, thats all. The card collecting is only really for youngsters.

Don't mind people complaining about its control system either - its a new control system that does take time to get used to, but it clicks after a while and its accuracy is something else. I don't like hyping stuff up in case I end up convincing someone to buy something they don't like, but I would put Kid Icarus up there as Game of the Year so far. There is nothing out there that I have played that is so well made and has so much stuff to see and do. So addictive it should come with a health warning

Talking about addictive, I put in a good three hours into Disgaea 4 tonight.

Started it up for the first time and I am quite happy with it. Its classic Disgaea - build your lads up and fight against all kinds of crazy monsters and assorted lunatics. Can't go wrong really. There is a little too much dialogue at the start of the game mind, and too many tutorials, but the gameplay and graphics are spot on. Nothing too surprising so far, but after the magnificent first game, Nippon Ichi hasn't really innovated - only evolved the game, so that is no real surprise. Looking forward to playing through it anyway as I await the launch of the 3DS XL.

Just started Fallout 3 and it seems to be a buggy piece of crap, twice I've got physically stuck and had to reload a save and once it froze completely. Then to add to that I went through a door and got killed immediately, the game put me back in the same place and it happened again, and again, and again. This is the GotY version too; if they couldn't fix it in that first year couldn't they have done so in the last three years?

When it does work I just killed a lot and don't like the weird combat system.

Last time I buy a game as part of a BOGOF deal (new so it’s not a scratched disc) without doing some proper research.

I do like the 50s style propaganda and general atmosphere though.

Stick with it. Despite the bugs, it is a fantastic game. Incredibly deep and rewarding. You do start off very underpowered though. My first time I got killed by every rad scorpion I came across.

The VATS combat system isn't mandatory, you can just play it like any other FPS if you want.

I just purchased Pro cycling manager 2012 which this year was created by Ubisoft (after they merged with Cyanide i guess) I`m very pleased with the game play .Pro Cycling Manager 2012 is a very good game that allows you to take control of a team of riders and manage them through a racing calendar. The game includes the international racing calendar and races such as the Tour de France.

I agree, its a fantastic game - one of the best of the generation - but its not got the best start. I have yet to fully beat it though as I got to one mission which was very boring, in some cave somewhere. But I will return some day and clear the game. I have put a silly amount of hours into it though and feel I have had more than my money's worth, despite not seeing the credits roll yet. Great gameplay, a well designed game world, and a genuinely interesting story. Plus the combat system is superb, and satisfyingly brutal to boot!

I've spent a few hours with Deadly Premonition and I'm not really sure what to think of it! It's a game of two halves really.

The 1st half - exploration, discussion & plot are extremely enjoyable. The lead character of Yorke is unique and has an air of mystery about him that makes me want to keep playing. The fabled Raincoat Killer is also a very interesting villain, different to the usual drones you're forced to fight these days. Exploration is amazing, the town of Greenvale is HUGE and driving around by car is super fun.

It's clear that a lot of thought went into the game too, you need to shave, eat, sleep, change suits, buy fuel and, you know, live. That whole side of the game makes the experience feel so much more realistic, it's awesome!

The second half of the game is the combat. Christ is it ever dull. Long grey corridors filled with mindless groaning drones. It's not broken by any means, just extremely boring.

I'll see this one through to the end, if only to see the end of the story

Decided to play a bit more of The Bourne Conspiracy earlier, and it's still a good game. But, once it's completed, I can't see me going back to it. Damn good fun while it lasts, though.
