Just Donkey Kong for the Game Boy today, picked it up on the market for a fiver. A great little game that I had once before and inexplicably sold.

To be fair, some were playable. MSH was slightly sluggish but it was all there and I enjoyed it. Even Capcom VS SNK was playable I thought. Nowhere near as polished as the Dreamcast port (which I need to replace my PS1 copy) but for what it was on under-powered hardware, I thought it played pretty well.

The bigger games I agree were disasters. X-Men Vs SF without tagging was a nightmare and the final boss is so hard to beat as a result of only having one character. I also used to have Marvel Vs Capcom on the Playstation and there were some strange things in there too such as the camera zooming in close for throws :? . Again, it worked but it was nothing on the DC port.

The only positive is that the PS1 versions actually have some collectable value to them so they do quite well on ebay

I meant the actual Vs games, Xmen Vs Streetfighter and so on. The Vs fighting PS1 games are all fine, even Capcom VS SNK Pro which is actually very playable.

Both metal slugs are worth tracki down. Sonic pocket adventure is ace, it takes it's inspiration mainly from sonic 2 which is a good thing. Snk vs capcom card fighters clash is another gem to track down (either version). Collecting a load of cards to get a good deck gets insanely addictive!
For fighters there are no shortage. I'd recommend kof r2 and snk vs capcom match of the millennium. Svc especially is still incredibly good and bar the vitas recent handheld fighters it still holds up as the bs handheld fighter I've played. So much content...
There is a decent port of both Megaman arcade games available as well, it's Japanese only though so it still tends to go for £40 so it's only worth goig for if your a fan.

Puzzle Link is a great and addictive puzzler. plays much better than Puzzle Bobble Mini IMO.

Kickle Cubicle on the NES today. Not played it before but I really enjoyed the quick blast I had when I got it home.

Pretty much everything i've acquired in the last month or so is on this pic:

Image

Total expenditure: £5.49

The DSLite, Prof Leyton, Nintendo Crosswords and Brain Training were free from my mum (bless her :) )
The CFW'd PSP, ChronoTrigger, Lumines and Puzzle Quest (which i've really become attached to, i have to say) were the result of a trade with pforson. (cheers again buddy)
The Playstation Network Puzzle Collection was £1.49 from Crack Convertors
The GB/A carts were £4 from a local tabletop sale.

All good :D

As someone who has every episode of Round The Bend on their hard drive, I am... a bit (well - I don't even have an ST!)...

And no mention of Neo Turf Masters as an NGPC recommendation? Scandalous!

^...but then...? Did it land in a Gucci handbag, and you have some for sale?

Anyway, wasn't intending to buy any more games for a while, but such is the nature of this curse...:

At Cash Converters, traded in Haze and Singularity (both PS3, both £1.98 in the recent GAME firesale) against Crysis 2 (PS3), Dead Space 2 (PS3) and Harvest Moon Magical Melody (Wii). Crysis 2 was incorrectly priced at £4.99 and I managed to get £6 trade on the two GAME-bought games so I got the lot for £11, which was nice.

Then bought The Hulk and TOCA Race Driver 3 on PS2 for 99p, BOGOF from GAME, as well as a Wii tips book for the same price. Blockbusters yielded a PS1 version of GTA 2 and Armored Core 3 (PS2), both totalling £1.99.

I spent big bucks at CEX, £6 on Baroque (Wii) and £4 on Ready 2 Rumble Revolution (also Wii), and then went on to but new n' sealed copies of Dreamcast Collection (360) and Jambo! Safari (Wii) for £7 each from Morrisons.

Add on a nice pair of Asics "California 78" trainers for £29.99 from TK Maxx, as well as the Rocky: The Undisputed Collection DVD boxset and the bloody and fantastic, latter-day Rambo (£7 and £2 respectively) from Morrisons AND a nearly new pair of Levi 501s for £3.99 from a charity shop and that was a bloody good little day of shopping, and all on a weekly ticket that I didn't even pay for (found it in the street on Tuesday, expires on Monday!). :D
