Finally, now I've got the time, decided to resurect my old website Super Famicom Central

I started it in 1999 as there was sod all english language stuff out there for the SFC and it ran quite healthily until around 2003-4, but things got busy (Life, work, marriage etc) and it died off a slow death and by 2007-8 pretty much ground to a halt.

I've now had the desire and energy to start it up again (even after all this time there is still a HUGE shartage of good Snes, never mind sfc sites around!)
Anyway...........still got a lot to add (reviews, articles etc) but the basic layout is up and everything seems to be working well.

I know it's not something that will appeal to all (maybe only has a small base of interest?)................but here is the link for anyone that does want to have a look

http://superfamicom.isgreat.org

Cheers :D

Hey all,

Just like to throw my site into the ring - http://mygurumeditation.wordpress.com

It's a little bit of everything, personal collecting stories, tips & tricks, reviews, associated guff. I'm shying away from a particular platform, because I find all of it - from the 2600jr to the Sega Saturn - equally interesting, fun and cherished. Please enjoy, and if you have your own retro site or blog and you'd like to exchange links I'd be more than happy! Community spirit and all.....

"subtle (blatant) plug alert"

I know this guy who lives down the road from my sister's aunties friend, well they have a dog who was telling me about this website where he was getting this cloth like material with retro style images on them - I didn't believe him tho - only last week he was barking away about some kids stuck down a well or sumit!

Here are four sites I recommend:

Magweasel - This is, in fact, the best gaming blog on the entire internet, the writer is a freelance translator who catalogues weird Japanese gaming stuff, like Super Mario Bros. guides and electromechanical arcade games. Consider it essential if you're a PC Engine fan- he has a whole category called "I <3 the PC Engine" which you have to read right now go go go.

The Simple Series - I've mentioned this before, and doubtless will mention it again, but it's worth mentioning as many times as possible. A not-quite-but-basically-there listing of all the Simple 2000 Series games- that infamous series of cheapo PS2 games instigated by the sinister cartel known as D3 Publisher, a series that spawned games like Earth Defence Force, Splatter Master and the shameless Onechanbara series. Additionally, it lists their European name where applicable, so it's really handy for PAL collectors. Sadly, the same site's 505 Game Street listing isn't nearly as complete (although it lists some of their cancelled localisations, including Castle Shikigami!).

Jeff Vavasour's Game Page - Just the one page, but this is a catalogue of all the games Jeff Vavasour worked on. Who's he? One of the big guns at Digital Eclipse (now Backbone) who you may remember as the people who brought you Midway Arcade Treasures/Atari Anthology. He talks about all the projects he's worked on (including the GBA Spyro games) and it's very interesting to hear about this sort of thing from inside. Definitely something for Atari fans to check out.

SelectButton - I got hooked to their (sporadic) front-page updates, podcasts and forums because of their fighting game thread during the build-up to MVC3. While not specifically tailored to retro gaming, their Galaxy Oddity threads are essentially 'video games are weird, man!' which encompasses all eras. A bit on the strange side, and the forums are not for everyone (I don't post there very often, I just lurk) but you've got to admire threads like this immense, near-maniacal love letter to Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance.

... Is this the bit where I plug my own site? Just click the thing below. It's three years old now, which is terrifying.

Aha! Just spotted this thread. Seeing as everyone else is doing it, I'll throw mine in:

Int10h - BBC Micro Game Reviews

http://www.int10h.co.uk

I review BBC games - focusing generally on the quirkier or unknown games for the Beeb. I normally stick a new review up about once a week. Particularly, I like to take suggestions from readers as to what get looked at.

Wouldn't want to fall foul of anti-spam rules in other forums, so this seems the perfect place for a plug!

Some of you may have seen my videos on YouTube looking at Net Yaroze and Official UK PlayStation magazine (and I've just started some Sega Master System tool-assisted speedruns!). A couple of weeks ago I launched a blog to accompany my channel, which takes a (slightly) amusing look at the features covered in old retro magazines.

It's in its infancy at the moment, and I will be branching out away from OPM shortly, but I do put a reasonable amount of effort into it so it'd be greatly appreciated if I could get some followers and maybe, just maybe, some comments! :o

If you have a blog yourself I'll gladly requite the 'follow'.

Cheers guys & gals. :D

Here's a quirky outside-the-box dead pan take on classic N64 and playstation games and so on. http://lee-morris.blogspot.com/2011/06/ ... -ours.html

The latest article is about alternative worlds in games such as ZELDA, STARFOX 64, GOLDENEYE, BANJO KAZOOIE, DIDDY KONG RACING, MARIO KART 64, FINAL FANTASY VII and the movie HOME ALONE.

(That felt so shameless, but I do want people to have a look. Especially you, my kin on this earth. The people I trust. I love you this much # - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -#. Hugs and Kisses!)
http://lee-morris.blogspot.com/2011/07/ ... yprus.html - Some interesting stuff about Safe-houses in Resident Evil 4, Gameboy game trading, Emo fringes, parallel worlds in the Zelda series, prisons in games, gaming statistics.

Here's a great retro stop located in Sutton Coldfield.
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=gro ... 1974500179
^ That's the facebook group.
It sells most consoles such as: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2 etc.
And has over tonnes of games for each retro console, the shop also sells retro plush toys, figurines and nifty collectables for obsessive collectors much like myself.
B72 1QX <-- There's the postal code, I hope this helped.
