Yeah, it's legit if that's what you're worried about. It's a digital magazine, and Cat' DeSpira's article is billed as being in issue 2.

This isn't a hoax, if that's what you are expecting. Can't blame you at all for thinking that what with all the loony toons carrying on this conspiracy in the manner they have. It's just an article on the actual events that shaped the legend and how they became misconstrued into the Polybius Myth. And the fact that Steven Roach was a real guy -a somewhat clever hoaxster who convinced quite a few people, embarrassingly enough, that he was legit. I see he was, in turn, impersonated here by those attempting to have a bit of fun. He has been impersonated on other forums as well. So weird.

Hilarious how he keeps being regenerated by people who find humor in stringing people along. So, believe me, I understand your apprehension :D But there's no Tom Foolery here. Just a straight up article. No controversy. No BS.

WOW. just read the whole thread, after reading a Cracked.com article on video game urban legends. [http://www.cracked.com/article_19172_8-creepy-video-game-urban-legends-that-happen-to-be-true_p2.html]

I had never heard of polybius before tonight!

So i started googling like mad, intrigued, and a few hours later, my head hurts. serves me right!

Did you read Cat Despiria's recent piece?

The Polybius story is entertaining enough for a piece of fiction.

With all the valid links to other articles , could this thread be locked? Or just not constantly resurrected?

It is a thread that should go to a new part of the forum - just for those magical threads that really really go mad! (maybe the 104 feedback thread should go there too  )....

I have started a Kickstarter based on the Polybius urban legend. If anyone is interested, please feel free to check it out.
