Yeesh, I couldnt do that. I'm amazingly terrible with keyboard/mouse for pretty much anything.

I'd be ramming stuff left and right if I tried it in a shmup, heh.

Game #3 info set up in post 2 of page 1. Rankings in post 1 of page 1 as always.

Have included the following bonuses which i believe are more than fair:

Standard 3 point bonus for the 1CC. On this game because of the second loop, you just need to reach stage 2-1 or higher to qualify.

Additional 2 point bonus for clearing the 2nd loop (hehe good luck with this one, I hear it's not easy), bringing the total bonuses available to 5 points for this game.

I think that's more than fair.


Anyway now it's finally set up, i'm off to dust off the AES and play some credits. :D

Ooooooooooookay.

I'm not making even ONE more full run on this game until I figure out WHAT in the hell decides the stage order.

It is NOT random.

Why do I say this? Because I refuse to believe that it "randomly" chose @#A*%-ing Paris as stage 2 *25* times in a row. Hint, I *really* dont want that stage as stage 2. ANY other stage. I dont care which. I really dont. Just NOT that one.

I've gotten to the point where I'm tempted to delete and replace the damn rom and see if that stops the accursed cycle.

I really wish Psikyo hadnt been so fond of doing things like this (the random order) in their games just to suck more coins out of people.

Arent they?

I always say, bullets need to be pink/blue/green. Makes them noticable.

It could be worse though.... it could be a Raizing game.

Where: A: all of the bullets are orange/silver, B: all of them are little needles, and C: EVERYTHING explodes WAY TOO BIG, so the tiny orange needle bullets blend in with all of the explosion fire filling the screen at all times.

Pretty much THE reason why I never really cared for their stuff. I'll stick with Cave and Psikyo here, thanks.

Stage 6 is a snot.

And if you start to do overly good on the way, the rank goes nuts and it becomes even MORE irritating. The rank seems to be tied to both not dying, and the scoring, I've noticed. If I hit 100,000 at the end of stage 1, I notice it immediately speeds up.

Kinda annoying.

EDIT: Also, there's TEN damn stages, if anyone was wondering. TEN. Agh. Too many.

The damn boat level is always Stage 6. i managed to get to the boss on this run.

had to restart the console after first credit already. MVS cart was glitching.

Yes, the random stage thing ends after 5. So the boats are ALWAYS 6.

And that boss is pretty horrible, isnt it.

The worse bit is when 3 subs pop up.. I honestly can never see the orange bullets.

Just a thought but in Mame is it fixed as default difficulty 4? I was wondering if you have the option of playing Easy, Normal, Hard or MVS and whether we should stick to MVS (difficulty 4) or play the Normal mode. These options show up on the AES version. i can switch between the versions as I have a modded universal bios AES. thoughts please?

edit: also how is the scoring looking after stage 1.. im hitting just over 50k on the JAP MVS
