Retro Cheats Section

Postby IronMaidenRule on Sat Jan 30, 2010 1:29 pm

Just wonder if Retro Gamer would consider doing a Retro Cheats/Hints sections in the future?

I have fond memories of reading these sections in magazines when I was younger and I would love to see them again in Retro Gamer!

Maybe we should have a cheats and hints section on this very forum!

Yeah - I dont see the harm in it,

Dont buy this argument that seems prevalent in many threads - that the magazine should not cover something because the information is already available on-line, Practically all information regarding any subject matter is available on line, to take this argument to it's logical extreme would mean there is no point to having printed magazines full stop.

Might be a nice addition to a "Why you must play" feature, although you could argue that cheats would spoil your enjoyment of the game ;)

Must make a mental note to ask about cheats whenever I do my next making of feature...

Perhaps a little article on the 10 best game retro cheats?

Some in-depth maps/hints rather than cheats could prove desirable, picture the amazingly detailed maps for Zelda, Metroid, etc in the earlier Nintendo Power issues.

An old fashioned one-off cover mount book on the magazine would be great featuring top tips and cheats from lots of systems... or maybe a few walkthough guides...

I appreciate this information is available on the intranet, but as a retro games collector I think this would be really nice to have...

I stumbled across a website recently with an article about the Konami code, amazing how many websites actually have it embedded.
