Thompson computers (French) ?

Postby NorthWay on Tue May 22, 2012 6:08 pm

You learn something every day they say.

Well, today I was googling 6809 based computers and came across the line of French computers from Thompson.
Could this be of some interest for RG? You would probably need the assistance of one of your French readers or someone with a history thereabouts.
Would love to learn something more about these machines and if they had some interesting games and uses.

The Retro Computer Museum as got a Thomson M05e, which I think was the German export version (it has a full travel keyboard rather than a rubber one).

I was playing Arkanoid on it when I visited last year. Interesting looking machine, for sure. Pretty scarce too.

There was a whole family of them, from like 82 to 86 it seemed.
I'm guessing they are compatible, but the gfx abilities increased to 640x200 in the end it seems. Wonder if they pinched chips and stuff form the CoCo family?
