To or Not To Retro Gamer Anthology 2

Postby cowboy on Sun Jun 06, 2010 9:44 pm

Hi there, i own Retro Gamer Collection Volume 1 & 2 & 3 and also the Hardware Handbook and Retro Gamer Anthology 1.

My question is does Anthology 2 & 3 have something different than the Collections i own. Is it worth buying Anthology 2 and 3 when i own all the Retro Gamer Collections from vol. 1 to 3 ?

What isues are covered in Anthology 2 and 3 ? Are these issues covered also in the Collections ?
I mean there is no point in buying Anthology volume 2 if the isues are included in the Collection i Own.

I am little confused hear, so if anyone knows please help.

I couldnt find this information nowhere on the net.

Thanks

There's usually something different between the anthologies and collectors books but to be honest if you already own the mags there's not much point buying them as it's just reprinted articles.

Well i dont have the mags just the compilations, that is the 3 Retro Gamer Collections and the Retro Gamer Anthology vol 1 (I see the first isues are not included in the collections ), but the problem is i dont know if Anthology 2 is actualy added to the Retro Gamer Collection.

Do you maybe know who should i ask that knows for sure ?

Sorry to sound like a numpty but what is the Retro Gamer Anthology? There are the three RG 'bookazine' collections and the eMag DVDs but I don't know of another collection. Do you mean the GamesTM 'Retro' collections?

Googling around for another ebay auction, I see a bit more description:

Collection of Retro Gamer articles, both published and unseen. Includes features on:
Bub and Bob
Durell
The Last Ninja
Megatree - Jet Set Willy 3
Mario's Wacky World
NES Music
Board games
Chaos
Little Computer People
Trashman

I think all these articles come from issues 1-18, like with the first Anthology. I personally haven't seen either of these "Anthologies" with my own eyes. Looks to be something Imagine did without direct Retro Gamer input maybe?
