A long shot but does anyone remember this kids program??

Postby thebear on Mon Jun 18, 2012 2:24 pm

Very very vague on the memories but

It MAY have been on in the holidays, although it could also have been something i watched when off sick
Possibly was an educational program to some extent
featured a cartoon charachter that could have been a greek philosopher type, or maybe a merlin type elder figure
and I think some roman soldiers too

oh and again not sure but it may not have all been animated

clear as mud!

any ideas?

It wasn't one of those animated biblical adaptations was it?
I remember seeing one that took the format of an early Christian storyteller amusing eager kids.

as you can tell it wasn't something I used to be overly bothered about weatching rather just something that somehow stuck itself in the old memory banks

It wasn't one of the "Once Upon a Time" Series - I have vague recollections of then. They were French and pretty lame as far as I can recall.

As far as I can recall he was in all the versions of the series that I saw back then. Each one was a different, educational topic. From History to Space to the Human Body.

I think it was The Childrens Channel Ran the everliving shyte out of the Space and Human Body one back in the 80's. To me it always seemed like they just ran the opening credits ad nauseam.

The Childrens Channe or TCC. Was a channel on the Astra service in the late 80's. Used to show loads of crap, but had the odd good thing in there like Voltron and Brave Starr.

Those shows were on normal terrestrial telly too, I remember seeing them and we never had more than the basic 3-4 channels.

I vaguely remember these programs.

I think they were shown first thing on a Sunday in the early 80s...
