The Show us your cars thread

Postby Joey on Sat Jan 07, 2012 11:47 pm

Hopefully you lot can indulge me with your pride and joy's from yesteryear. The older the better :D

Here's most of mine, in order, from the last 10 years. A couple are missing as I never took photos of them.

As you can see the running theme is early 90's sport/hot hatches...

I hate car threads, depressing.

My old 1994 Toyota Celca GT. 175bhp.

My old 1995 Subaru Impreza WRX 270bhp.

Image

My one true love, 1992 MR2 Turbo 280bhp.

All gone, I now have a Focus 1.6 as a family car. Sold the MR2 4 years ago and it still hurts. :(

I trailered it around the UK to many track days then stripped it for parts and sent the shell to the scrappy's about a year ago. So hope you haven't seen it since then

Thanks man, it hurts looking back, especially to the MR2!

I like the red Escort you had there, looks very tidy. They have a really smart look when done right. The MR2 is nice too, I would like a nice sensible UK tbar in white now.

Yea the RS Turbo was my first turbo car and my worst car purchase. I'd just turned 21 and it was the car I had always wanted so rushed into it. Needless to say 2 weeks later it dropped a piston and cost me an engine rebuild.

I'm sure I've posted a pic of this in another car thread a while back, but here's my 'wife' of nine years this April. ~400-450bhp according to mods and given a spot of cold weather. :|

Yeah. Depressing knowing that I'll probably be dead before being able to afford insurance on anything like the nice cars in this thread :(. Fortunately I'm smart enough (he says) to not be looking at stuff way out of my range.

While I was looking for my first car last week, I saw a really nice condition Escort GTI (the mid-nineties model) for just £795. They'll all be on the scrapheap before I have enough NCB to get anywhere near them though.

@Joey: is that a Fiesta XR2 above the BMW? There was somebody opposite me who had one of those stood on their drive until it got covered in mould and rust. Eventually, somebody came along at night, towed it off the drive and stole it for scrap  . The wheels had locked up because it been stood there for so long so all that was left in the morning were two long ruts in the gravel where it had been dragged away

my first car was one of these when i was at college, but in a lovely "gold" colour. cost £125 to buy, sold it for £250 a couple of years later :D

i do have a photo somewhere, but not a digital one. then it was a white fiat uno that felt like driving an eggshell.
then i think i've had a fiesta, an astra estate, a peugeot 307, a slightly new astra, then on to the people carrier.
probably never took photos of any of those though, and the only ones i've got photos of are where various people have driven into them...

Image

this is the car i bought for my wife. sadly, due to 2 small children, it's been replaced with a renault grand scenic now...

the "for sale" pics are all still up on my site though

Did you run out of cash when you went shopping for a red bonnet?

Do you have a nice loud exhaust to go with it?

Couldnt find a red one from a seller that would take cheque and would deliver at the time and no the exhaust is a standerd 3rd party one.
Id sort if I had the money but considering my situation its best just to focus on keeping it legal and working.

Phew! Nothing worse than an overly loud Honda!

Pity about the bonnet as the paintwork looks tidy.
