That was quality but they set a high benchmark just before when his partner took a fist through the face

I have it and it's great :D . Brilliantly OTT and bizarre with loads of violence.

The visual style reminded me of Batman & Robin, except this was intentionally funny. Still not quite as good as I'd hoped though

Re-watched Street Fighter II The Animated Movie again last night. I have the special edition uncut version so this time I watched the original Japanese version on disc 2 which apparently has extra scenes. Honestly, I didn't notice anything 'extra' but the film itself was as cool as ever.

I caught this once on SciFi. Soooo much better than the live action movie!

I watched the finale of 'Homeland'. A pretty good ending. I wasn't that sure of this series, but it got better as it went along. There is a second season coming as well. By the war, the original Israeli series on which it is based(Prisoner of War), starts on Sky Arts 1 this Thursday.

I then watched the pilot episode of 'Awake' with Jason Issacs(hello to him  ). Hmmm, interesting concept. It is detective based drama, but you get to see two different versions of the same story. It might take a while for this series to develop. Has anyone else seen it?

Just watched the Avengers this afternoon, I highly recommend it to anybody, fan or not. The only thing I would say is that the 3D wasnt all that, just OK. Titanic's 3D was far better in my humble opinion.

In addition to Tintin (which was excellent), I also watched The Ghost, and Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy today and enjoyed them both also, TTSS being the better of the two.

^^

Yep, TTSS is a great movie.

I love a good Espionage Film with a vintage feel to it.

I'm gonna have to watch that again.

The Sidewalk Astronomer on PBS, an interesting take on making astronomy relevant to the public. Or not.

If you like Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy, check out a mini series called The Company from a few years ago, it's a "spy-catcher" story set at different periods during the Cold War involving the CIA and KGB, starring Michael Keaton, Alfred Molina and Chris O'Donnell.

i went to see the avengers too. deliberately went for 2d because i still haven't seen a film that has been better for being in 3d. anybody recommend one to me?

film was excellent though - i don't really go for the superhero films much, and tend to avoid the films that everybody raves about (because i usually think they are cr*p after all the build up/hype), but i really did enjoy it. some real laugh out loud moments.

Ghostbusters II. Really underrated, and I think it's a worthy follow up to a classic. Shame they had to chop some good parts out (like Ray driving possessed, part of which ends up in the montage), but overall the film is great.
