Console Combat - Retro Community Gathering in Manchester, 25-26th July 2009
Console Combat is a two day retro gaming event that will be taking place on the weekend of 25-26th July 2009 at the Lass O'Gowrie Pub in the Heart of Manchester (
http://www.thelass.co.uk), home of the monthly "Computer Club" gaming evenings.
The event is intended to be a laid back gathering for the retro gaming community, giving visitors the chance to play a selection of classic arcade machines, 8-bit home computers and consoles, whilst sampling a selection of fine ales and good food.
We will be running a selection of competitions throughout the weekend and will also be hosting the Homebrew Coding Geekend, an informal discussion forum for independent programmers from across the UK.
Console Combat is being co-organised by the people responsible for past and future classic gaming events such as Retro Reunited, Retrovision and Byte Back, so you can be assured that it will be of the highest possible standard!
Tickets cost just £4.50 (including your first drink free!) and are available online at
http://www.consolecombat.co.ukThere are just 75 tickets available for this event so buy early to avoid disappointment. Please also take a look at the site for details of the competitions being run, including the Battle of the 8-bits and a Retro Gaming Pub Quiz!
A trip to the "Videogame Nation" exhibition at the nearby Urbis is also planned for the morning of Sunday 26th.
