Hello

First time ever joining a forum so all new to me.
Been following the forum for a long time and thought i would dip my toe in.

My name is Darren Jones, am 38 years old and have been a gamer all my life. Longtime reader, first time subscriber.
I have owned a few different game systems in the past starting with the good old Dragon 32, Spectrum 128k+2, Atari 520ST, PC486SX, Playstation 1, Playstation 2 and now own an XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii and a Nintendo DS.
Have also played on numerous other gaming systems over the years and spent most of my school days in the local seafront arcades or hanging around in the local computer shop trying out all the new games.
My 2 favourite games ever have to be Grand theft auto : Vice City as i just love the eighties and Daytona USA in the arcades for the best multiplayer fun ever - that last corner on the last lap of beginner course makes me laugh every time, win or lose.
Thanks for listening.

Hi Everybody!

I'm Scottish & I'm slowly accepting the fact that I am a geek. It's only taken me the best part of 40 years to sink in.. So here I am.
I've been pretty much hooked on anything computer-y since my folks bought a Grandstand system in the 70s (can't remember exactly what it was, so I may have already failed some RG entrance exam right there)
Anyway, my geekery hasn't stopped me finding a mate, and managing to procreate twice. I also seem to have bluffed my way into the role of Network Admin at a law firm.
When I'm not in front of a keyboard, or holding a joypad, I like to play guitar (having now given up on my dreams of rock superstardom) watch films/TV, listen to horrendously loud music, drink Hobgoblin, and grow increasingly frustrated at the underperformance of Liverpool FC.
Other than the aforementioned non-specific Grandstand thingy, I have also owned - 3 x rubbery 48K Speccys (Damn you Daley Thompson!) , Spectrum+, Atari ST, Sega Mega Drive, Dreamcast, Xbox, Playstation, PS2, PS3, Xbox360, Wii, and various self-built PCs.

Greetings & Salutations to all!

Hello RG people

found the mag and this forum via the issue 100 - first one I bought - and great it was too.

My main interest is the Dreamcast (the first console I properly owned). Before that I did play bits and pieces
on my older brothers consoles and computers - though a lot of what I played is a bit hazy I have to admit.

I also had a GameCube (which I didn't really like much) and these days I'm a PS3 guy.

I don't really bring much knowledge to the table, but from what I read in issue 100 it's a big retro world out there, so finding out more could be fun.

cheers
B

an etiquette question: the only dreamcast thread I can see
is fairly old. Do people on here prefer you to start new thread
or is it better to revive older threads?

thanks

depends how old the existing thread is, but personally I would start a new one.
